You guys that know me know about my 9 y/o son being hit by a car back in September while he was in the crosswalk outside his school. He is doing great now, just another active little boy, although I have to take him regularly for checks on his spleen and stomache. But he should be fine. Anyway, we went to court on the matter today and he so impressed the judge she gave him a tour of the whole court house! Her chambers, her private elevator, behind the bench. He is such an adorable little boy and I'm not saying that because he is mine. When the judge asked him if he had any questions he said yes,...one. "What do you wear?"(under the robe) lmfao That's my boy! Anyway, He was awarded a substantial ammount to be put into a blind trust but because the judge has a lot of 18 y/os coming in this month to get their trust monies and she knows how quick money flows through young hands, since I set up a college fund for him when he was born, as I did with my daughter, the judge will allow me to place it into his high yielding college fund a few years earlier. He will be able to go to any school he wants and pay for it with the interest he makes! And since his sister already got a minor settlement, I was able to put that right into her account so although she won't have as much she will be set also. Today I feel a sense of relief that my children will be better off than I was, and I think, aside from turning out good people, as a parent that is our ultimate goal. Will/are your children (be) better off than you? I'm not done, but now there is a lot less stress.

Thank you my favorite Dudette! I am happy that it all is behind us now and the end of one of the many things that came at me almost all at the same time. One less linc in the chains imposed on me this year.

I'm certain my boy is way cuter than I ever was. A brown eyed blonde with a smile that is almost always there. Sometimes I think he must be what a hug looks like.

Glad your son is fine. Sorry to hear about the accident . I might have missed when you posted about it ! But did you say what will happen to the person that hit him ? were she/he drinking and driving ? My 15 year old nephew was not so lucky a year ago last December. He was killed instantly while going to the bus stop. All she got for not defrosting her windows and crossing 2 lanes and hit him ..was Several hours community Service. Do not feel she got enough . Good luck to all of your family. you have a miracle ...

That's awesome Pally. I'm glad everything worked out so well. My kids are better off than I was/am. They too have college funds set up already and they've had them since they were born. They are 7 and 4 now.

ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh - pally.

there's so many things I want to say and yet the lump in my throat is only moderately smaller than the goosebumps on my arms and the sweet warmth inside me at the thoughts of you, your kids and the freeing of the chain links...

The weight lifts darling, especially when there's angels sharing the load...

you were mine - remember?

Be blessed!
Be blessed!
Be blessed!

(and what was SHE wearing under her robe?)

Am I better off than my parents?
I question only relationships.
Myparents married at 18 and 21. Now they are 66 and 63, and have never slept apart.

My sons will be just fine.
Their mom taught them how to be men who love good women.

Life will continue and be the best that is yet to be.

Such a wonderful story, pallyboy. So glad things worked out for that wonderful little boy and his sister.

Are my children better off than I was? Not sure. financially, they are far, far bettr off, educationally far, far better, but being children of divorce, not so good as i was growing up. Great question, pally.
