why is it that we(humans) have a need to be with some one? I do not do so well with other people. yet down in the depths of my cold black hart I can not help but want to find the other half. The sun too my moon.light to my dark. the omega to my alhpa. the peaches to my cream. the queen of may danmed.

I think a lot of people tend to feel that way. Though it can depend on your attachment style and self esteem to a good extent, I'd say the biggest thing is how you interact with your (or would interact) partner. For example, if you tend to have the urge to cuddle, kiss, or need a partner to fulfill your emotional needs often and regularly, being without someone can tend to make you lonely. If you're on the other extreme and don't need to be that clingy, then that loneliness should be relatively smaller. Or, if you are somewhere in the middle...you might have mixed or more complicated feelings about needing someone.

I'd say secondly, it comes down to what priorities you set. If a job is what you put first, above a relationship, then you may not feel as much of an urge to find someone, at least not as often. On the other hand if you desire a relationship equally or more than a career (or insert another priority...), you might feel like you need to find someone and find (her) fast.

In your case, even if you need less from your partner, I'm not saying there is anything wrong with that. Yet, it's very understandable that you want to find someone even in spite of that. It happens, I think you might just have to decide what you really want, how important is she to you, and how to go about finding her.

I think by and large, this is a natural desire, nothing to be ashamed of. But, if these desires are not directed right or go unfulfilled for a while, things can be difficult.
