| Or has anyone had daily contact with a person who has had the surgery? I'm "due" for one this operation or been in daily contact with someone who has had the procedure? I'm "due" for a new hip this summer. Yes, I've read a lot about the pre-hab and rehab, but it would be interesting to hear some personal accounts.

| My Mom had her hip replaced. They put like a metal ball in there. She was doing fine, but after putting so much pressure on the other leg, now she has trouble walking. I'd be more than happy to find out more for you, if you have specific questions? Just email me

| Never had hip replace. But I will be praying for you on the hip replacement.. You will be okay if you don't get Staff infection.. My mother got staff infection after her knee replacement but she got the infection in her hip and they had to remove her hip joint and she was unable to have anymore surgery because of this infection.. I would (if hadn't already done so) get a second look from another doctor before I have this hip replace. But I will still be praying for you on this. sending you these Roses for your speedly Recovery ::: Take Care Ms.Genny

| Yes, I had both hip joints replaced in 2006 at Duke; one in June and the other in November. My original ones sounded like an old boat when I moved and were simply worn out. I had to use a walker to get around. I think the most important thing is to get a doctor who has a reputation for successful work and absolutely do all the rehab he suggests. Mine have worked well and this summer I am back to swimming quite a bit.
