| Thanks for the video, it was interesting. When I was a kid my sister and I played with mercury. My mother had a plastic bottle of it and we used to pour it out on the table and watch it "break" and then put it back together again. I still can remember the way it felt in my hand, cold, heavy. Anyway, years went by and I would take my mother to her Dr. appointments I had a conversation with her Dr. one time about mercury, and asked him why my sister and I were still alive if we had played with it as kids. He said he used to play with it also, and referred to it as "quick silver". His answer to my question was simply..."Because we didn't know it was deadly." There is no other explanation in my mind.
I also remember when working in the school the adults took turns giving out doses of flouride on Tues. mornings. Those kids whose parents gave permission would be given little plastic cups with a small amount in them and had to swish it in their mouth for 2 minutes and then spit it out into papertowel. One day I read the side of the bottle of flouride and what we were to do if a child swallows it, and asked that I not be one to give it to them anymore, as I didn't feel good about it. Now we have it in our drinking water!

| yeah, no doubt they are dumbing down America on purpose but unfortunately there are millions of Americans that didn't need any help.
Lead used to be the big thing, they say it was one of the factors that contributed to the fall of the Roman Empire. They put pluming in every home but unfortunately they used lead pipes, not knowing the effect that it would have. Heavy metals settle in the brain, most drastically effecting children.
During WWII they put lead in paint, to paint the battleships with and after the war was over they had lots and lots of lead paint left over, which they sold off as surplus. So naturally contractors would be the first to buy such large amounts of cheap paint and used it to paint and repaint public schools.
Don't eat the paint chips, they told us as kids in school, it will make you stupid.
Probably one of the reasons that we now have unleaded gasoline today, all that lead floating around in the air and settling all on the streets all across America.
But I guess since everyone was making such a big deal about lead, that they had to find something else.
Also you might find that lots of the chlorine used in your drinking water contains lead.
I don't drink tap water or watch TV, but not hard to understand where the misguided opinions of many of our right wing members on this board who do come from.
Also, apparently there is some sort of chemical in plastic bottles that mimics estrogen. It will eventually bleed into whatever liquid that is contained in that bottle and drank by humans, who's body will think it is estrogen, explain why so many men have become feminized. Another process of mass control, the feminization of males so they are less aggressive and won't fight back or protest. Canada has banned plastics that contain this substance, as it is not really needed, except for mass control of the population.

| I remember being one of those kids who had to swish that garbage around in my mouth. If I remember it was sort of sweet and crappy tasting. It always felt kind of strange to be doing it in school kind of like we were lab rats in some experiment.

| Thanks for the thread Jewelz as well as the video! I've always been concerned with the mercury in fish. Since I've fish so much in my life.. and there is so much toxic levels of pesticides in fish; I wonder how much chemicals are in my body that can not be flushed away! I use to fish in irrigation ditches in No. Calif and saw how crop dusters just dusted crops with DDT before the ban and dusted me many times! I saw fish populations decrease for 25 years which the marine biologist when interviewed were unable to explain the shortages. Yet, after the DDT ban of the 1970's, the California brown peliguin came back now in vast numbers. DDT can not leave the body.. I wonder how much is in my body and others as well as mercury, PBT's, lead, PDT's ETC. -- Now.. I didn't get dumbed down.. well.. I did acheieve a 3.85 avg in my major at USF, 3.5 overall in college.. with a year in UC Berkeley.. Geesh.. got the worst greade in Berkeley.. because I had to work.. as well as travel.. to SF.. 1 1/2 hr each way by bus.. before BART. But.. my hearth was so affected.. and perhaps.. my emotional.. IQ.. was so hurt.. I feel.. and I wasn't prepared.. to set out.. and didn't know myself.. at that age.. to deal with.. life's challenges as well.. back then.. My EQ.. didn't prepare me.. adequately.. to relate.. to communicate.. and personally attain self satisfaction.. to achieve.. life's success.. in my 20's and 30's!! I might have been a bit scattered.. tonight.. Must be the chemicals!! giggling..
