| When I find someone of intrest I send a wink, then they can look at my profile, if they are intrested in me then they can send me a wink or an e-mail back.I do this so I don't have to write an e-mail only to have it deleted

I can see that point of view, but to me at least, a wink seems so generic. There is no way for me to tell if a guy is on a winking spree and winking at every profile he comes across, tossing several lines in the water to see if he gets a bite so to speak.
So typically I only reply to or look at profiles of someone that sends me an email, even just a short one to let me know that they actually read my profile and didn't just browse it and is sincere in his interest. Just me.

| I like winks!! It's a small flirt...saying...what'd ya think? Wanna chat? Two strangers passing each other, one winks...the other one smiles...they begin a conversation...It's a huge pick me up and offers an opportunity to delve a little deeper! If there is no initial interest by both people...then why would you pursue? I agree with Tileman...it's an easy way to say hello. Both people get a bit of attention and possibility! So here's to winks! [

| I think a wink is a good way of getting someone to read your profile, but to some a photo
is the number one priority, can we say vane. You may just be pleasently surprized who lurks in the shadows.

| I have hard time with the first communication. I'll say why.
Grab 10 random woman profiles that are complete. 8 of those profiles are going to state that the woman "loves the outdoors". Now look at "The Great Outdoors" topic. 71 threads with 602 posts. Sex and Dating: 8,990 threads with 300,206 posts.
Now I know that all these posts are made by men as well. Seems to me, people are more interested in talking about sex than what the claim to love.
If I were to read your profile, respond to the content, how long would the conversation last? So, I wink. I had a physical attraction to you. Let's see if you have to me. If not, why should we waste our time? Don't call me shallow, now. Just about 99% of all relationships started with a physical attraction.
Okay, so let's say we both wink right. How long is our discussion of our last camping trip or hike or bike ride going to go on? Seriously, the numbers show that people would rather talk about sex. I can't email a chick telling her how I would really like to sleep with her, so I wink. Would you rather me try to fake a conversation with you? Is that how you want our first encounter to be. Me, over here putting a show. When both of us know that it is complete crap.
People need to be more honest. I enjoy sitting here on my computer for hours at a time trying to find my soul mate. I would really like to go camping but I don't do it often. My last hiking excursion involved taking my trash to the dumpster. When I ride a bike, it has a motor on it. Is honesty going to fulfill our wishes and desires from this site? No.
So women, please stop complaining about getting winks. I know you want to feel special and wanted. You want a man to take his time and romance you with his keyboard. Well, make it worth it on our part. Tell us the truth. Not what you think we want to hear.
