If you are anywhere near Lancaster, be sure to check out this event in the Manheim area. Gaelic Storm plays at a music fest on Friday night and the Celtic Fling/Highland Games is the rest of the weekend. I'll be around. And if you are in the area, be sure to check out a great bar called Dad's Bar & Grille. It's a great place in Manheim with a front bar, karaoke bar, dance club and even a bar in the basement! I believe it used to be a house. It's sooooo great.

Well, if you run into me at the Faire - be sure to say hello!

That is just up the road. Thanx for the tip. Haven't been to a Celtic event in so long... with a band no lesss. Gggggreat Gobs of Goooo, Lassie. Sounds like a day t'be reckoned with, it does. Seriously, this is just the kind of thing I've been looking for.
Friends of mine in SC have a Celtic band. Two of them are married ex-schoolteachers and sing their songs, in the old Gaelic. English is all I can handle myself whilst strumming the guitar.
If'n I see ya there, I'll surely say Hey.

I'm afraid you missed it. =( Actually, the annual Renaissance Faire runs in Manheim at the Mt. Hope Estate & Winery Grounds from Mid-August into October. The weekends won't have a Celtic theme but they are fun none the less!!! Check them out, especially if it's located right down the road from ya. We might come back later in the season again. If we do, I'll post it on the board again.

Also, check out Dads Bar & Grille in Manheim. It's the funniest bar I've ever been to. It's built into what used to be a house and has a locals bar in front, a Karaoke bar, a Gay/Lesbian Nightclub and a neat dance club in the basement. It's such an interesting and just fun place! Completely unexpected!

Later!

I live about 3 miles from the Mt. Hope Estate and Winery. I've been to the Ren Faire, but, I miss the Celtic Fling every year for one reason or another. This year I was visiting my daughter in New Hampshire. Mostly I wanted to tell you that locals consider Dad's a dive!!

Ya know what? You're right about Pinch Pond. I'm sorry. I was thinking of White Oak Dam. So I admit I'm wrong on that one, but, Dad's is still a dump!!
