| I'm new to gardening. Started late in the season. Decided to plant in pots tomato plants, green peppers, jalapeno peppers & basil. All seemed to call for a lot of sun. That's why I planted in pots - the only place with a lot of sun is on my back porch. Any advice you can offer so that I can make my first go at growing my own veggies and herbs - I'd appreciate it. Oh - I used organic soil and fertilizer pods.
Thanks!!!

| Sounds like you have gotten a great start. Be sure they get enough ( food). The little (jobs) sticks that fertilize are great. They have them for veggies and flowers. Good luck and no weeds to you ..

| Hey Junkie, keep in mind that pots are great but on windy days they have a tendency to lose moisture quicker than a garden spot. Just keep an eye on them and if you're going anywhere for a couple of days or more, give them a good soaking before you leave.

| Thanks guys! I'll keep my eye on them. I do have a tendancy to travel on the weekends - so, I'll be sure to give them extra H2O.

travel,
I tried to email you some info about a good "container gardening" Yahoo! group but DHU will not let anyone in my age group email a young chick like you because I do not fall in the age group you are seeking. This group has loads of information, tips, ect. about container gardening. They will probably censor out the link that I am posting for it....but if you are interested in it you can email me and I will send it to you. BTW, my daughter has several pots of tomatoes and peppers. She has been picking some tomatoes for about two weeks. HTH, shy
