Subject: Fw: From Paul Harvey !!!

HOORAY, HOORAY, HOORAY for Paul Harvey. I myself have been grumbling and
wondering how a handful of people have been able to take our right to pray in
public places away from us. So, agreeing with Paul, I GLADLY will forward
this email AGAIN, AGAIN AND AGAIN.

Folks, this is the Month that we RE-TAKE AMERICA (and Canada !!!)
*********Get Ready*********

Keep this going around the globe .. read it and forward every time you
receive it. We can't give up on this issue.

Paul Harvey and Prayer

Paul Harvey says:

I don't believe in Santa Claus, but I'm not going to sue somebody for singing
a Ho-Ho-Ho song in December. I don't agree with Darwin , but I didn't go out
and hire a lawyer when my high school teacher taught his Theory of Evolution.

Life, liberty or your pursuit of happiness will not be endangered because
someone says a 30-second prayer before a football game. So what's the big
deal? It's not like somebody is up there reading the entire Book of Acts.
They're just talking to a God they believe in and asking him to grant safety
to the players on the field and the fan s going home from the game.

But it's a Christian prayer, some will argue.

Yes, and this is the United States of America , a country founded on
Christian principles. According to our very own phone book, Christian
churches outnumber all others better than 200-to-1. So what would you
expect -- somebody chanting Hare Krishna?

If I went to a football game Jerusalem ,I would expect to hear a Jewish
prayer.

If I went to a soccer game in Baghdad , I would expect to hear a Muslim
prayer.

If I went to a ping pong match in China , I would expect to hear so meone
pray to Buddha.

And I wouldn't be offended. It wouldn't bother me one bit.
When in Rome ...

But what about the atheists? Is another argument.

What about them? Nobody is asking them to be baptized. We're not going to
pass the collection plate. Just humor us for 30 seconds. If that's asking
too much, bring a Walkman or a pair of ear plugs. Go to the bathroom. Visit
the concession stand. Call your lawyer!

Unfortunately, one or two will make that call. One or two will tell
thousands what they can and cannot do. I don't think a short prayer at a
football game is going to shake the world's foundations.

Christians are just sick and tired of turning the other cheek while our
courts s trip us of all our rights. Our parents and grandparents taught us
to pray before eating, to pray before we go to sleep. Our Bible tells us to
pray without ceasing. Now a handful of people and their lawyers are telling
us to cease praying.

God, help us. And if that last sentence offends you, well, just sue me.

The silent majority has been silent too long. It's time we tell that one or
two who scream loud enough to be heard that the vast m ajority doesn't care
what they want. It is time that the majority rules! It's time we tell them,
You don't have to pray; you don't have to say the Pledge of Allegi ance; you
don't have to believe in God or attend services that honor Him. That is your
right, and we will honor your right; but by golly, you are no longer going to
take our rights away. We are fighting back, and we WILL WIN!

God bless us one and all .. especially those who denounce Him ,God bless
America , despite all her faults. She is still the greatest nation of all.
God bless our service men who are fighting to protect our right to pray and
worship God.

Let's make 2008 the year the silent majority is heard and we put God back as
the foundation of our families and institutions ... and our military forces
come home from all the wars.

Keep looking up.

If you agree with this, please pass it on.
If not delete it.

why do you need to go through someone else to pray?

why can't you pray wherever you are? I do.

and by the way, Jesus said, we are only supposed to ask that Gods will be done,

On earth , as it is in Heaven.. In other words, please bring the perfection of heaven to earth, please please forgive us for wanting what is not your will, but what is of OUR will, and please god let it be right and peaceful here, like in heaven.

give us enough to eat, and please keep us from wanting something that isn't your will again, by keeping us safe from tempatation.

For YOUR kingdom of spiritual truth, is THE kingodm and THE glory Forever. what is right is always glorious, even when it hurts.

paul havey. an idiot if ever i've seen one. the VERY big deal is that life, liberty and the pursuit of many peoples happiness through out history has not only been endangered by religious dogma but stolen as with the crusades, the inquisition, the witch tials and this f**king jihad that endangers us and distroys lives today. keep your prayers and religious rhetoric to yourselves and out of my public face as the law rightfully requires. you see i have this vision of a peacefull life i'd like to live.

no paul, that's the rest of the story.

First of all, this isn't from Paul Harvey:
http://www.snopes.com/politics/soapbox/prayer.asp

The thing that is happening in society is that the christians have held sway over society for 1500 years. People are finally standing up and saying 'enough already'. I grew up going to church and listening to sermons about 'the poor persecuted christians' for years. I hear the same thing everywhere today - as in the quoted item here. In actuality, in North America, it is much harder to stand up publicly and say - 'I am an atheist' than it is to claim to be a christian.

People are looking to separate church and state - an item enshrined in your constitution and mostly practiced here.

It's actually the Christians that are finally standing up and saying "enough already"

And we are winning, slowly but surely.

Curious try not to be such a know it all for a change as your constant cut and paste shows how little original thought process you actually have !!!!

Jr. try to remember to show some respect to a fellow veteran as it's embarrassing when a family member acts like a nasty ,pissed off child in public !!!!

Classics give it a rest as your in no shape to speak with such disrespect this man about anything !!!!As his service gave you the freedom to post your usually offensive snippy selfserving comments in the 1st place!!!

Paken , Thanks for a right on post here AMEN!!!

Whose service?

This was not written by Paul Harvey it was written by sportswriter Nick Gholson. His bio on the paper's wed site says nothing about military service.

Nick Gholson is the Sports Editor at the Wichita Falls Times Record News, and has been a member of our staff since 1972, briefly filling the position of News editor from 1977 to 1979. He is a sports columnist, and supervises the sports staff. A 1964 graduate of Wichita Falls High School, Gholson graduated from Midwestern State University in 1977 with a Bachelors in Journalism. He and his wife, Jenee' have been married since 2000. Nick has two children, Tommy Gholson and Christy Gholson Graham; one stepson, Charles Plumlee and one grandson Nicholas Ryan Graham.

Perhaps jr understands the freedoms people fought for.

So are you saying that christianity should be the religion of government? That courts should use theology as the basis for their decisions?

Well my brother, since the church was reformed to Christianity back in AD 34(?); They have displayed just "How Enough Already" they've been standing up for. Their understanding, comprehension of Jesus message is all twisted up from their church and parish leaders; their great spiritual advisor's....etc....

The originator of this posts service !!!!! Not anyone elses !!!! and as for JrBogies post I was just reminding him what military family is !!!!And since you are supposedly an american citizen its your constitution also True????!If not Its a free country, please feel free to leave .

I have also found that when the surface is scratched many people who profess to be atheists are in fact agnostics ,a totaly different kettle of fish !!! Sorry your childhood church experience was so skewed ,might try a bit more delveing into other denominations doctrines before condeming all christians ! No Worries Nuff Said !!!!

Thanks for everyone's input now let me explain something. This message was emailed to me by my sister-in law who is a devout Christian.I just thought it would be a good place to pass it along for those who would appreciate it.I actually don't know the origin of the statement and don't care.It really doesn't matter.Personally I think Mr Harvy is a great American but I haven't heard him speak in years.I have never attacked any one personally on any of these threads not will I allow myself to be attacked.

I heard yesterday on the radio, Paul Harvey will be on again in a limited bases. His first broadcast will be tomorrow, Saturday, July 19th. AM 740. I'm sorry that I do not know the time.

Most of Paul Harvey's topics are not Christian, but to me, most are thought provoking.

thanks for sharing the message. Paul gives credit to whomever he is quoting in his broadcast.
