| I have invested a reasonable portion of educating myself to seek truth and not be as a resounding gong. I am not stupid enough to believe whatever a church leader says. I seek to find if validation can be obtained. I am wise enough that it pleases God to go beyond a bible and research fully to understand the word. For example Paul says do not eat with sinners. . . And dont freakin quote the bible I am simply summoning it up here I KNOW EXACTLY HOW HE WORDS IT AND WHAT HE IS SAYING....ok so anywho..JESUS ATE WITH SINNERS. . .so guess what I EAT WITH SINNERS. MY point is why be a resounding gong? Why believe everyword just because it says no man shall know the father but thru me does not mean dont do your homework. Investigate and for GODS SAKE loose the holier than thou tudes. I love my fellow christians but some act like trained seals juggling hypocracy and judgement and well plain ol monkey see monkey do. Investigate! Look at history diasect and learn. Your thoughts. Oh, I almost forgot. . .play nice. Thanx

| I don't think there is anything wrong with scripture, unless that is just about all you can use in a conversation about religion. When someone just recites it and if you ask a question they can't answer you in their own words rather than to refer to the bible, then it isn't genuine. Of course, if you beleive it is the word of God verbatim, then I think you have lost your own voice. It is kind of like a vaccum cleaner salesman that comes to your house and is trying to sell you a vacuum, and has no clue how it works and they have to keep referring to the manual when you ask a question about it. How many vacuums would you buy from them?

| Your right sister, so few people truly understand their religion. They read their bible but then rely on their church to teach them the context behind the scriptures. Rather then becomming educated and learning the context themselfs. It still amazes me how many different religions can spawn from a single book. And how many people cling so tightly to that same book. But how many of the don't really study the book they read it and then change its context to fit their purposes.
This is why I love stepping back and looking at all religions/philososphys out there and see how they all interact together.

therein lies the rub. no two christians can agree on the scriptures even after their research conducted beyond the bible. so how can you believe anything whether written by the ancients or what a church leader says. and of course then there are the other non christian god fearing faithful such as muslims and jews. how can any of you claim to know the truth?

While living in Kansas for two years, I put everything on the proverbial kitchen table. Then, I proceeded to question everything in life - including my own existence, spirituality vs. religion, and everything else. In my view, people should come to their own conclusions of what to believe, instead of being told what to believe. If you want to believe that pigs fly around the moon, more power to you

jesus spoke of many prophets and claimed there would be many, and had been many, and claimed he was one. Now if Jesus says that there will be a need for prophets in the future, could he have possibly meant that ONLY his way is right?

and who in the hell do these people think they are saying PAULs way is Jesus way, he was a pharisee out christian hunting, and he realized, hey why am I hunting them I could be using them, and thats what he did. he unleashed the dark ages, middle ages, the inquisiton the crusades, the witch trials, and countless wars. think of the torture, and the murder, and suffering, they imposed on others for their own will.

is what jesus was saying was that because they were under such oppressive rule, by such greedy men, that were teaching them false messages, and false worship, it was neccesary for him to show by example how to live, by doing what was right, no matter what the consequences, and his message was, Let Love for each other, and for god, guide your action and nothing else. don't be materialistic be spiritual, prize love over all else.
through his action the hypocrisy of the church was revealed, and the people saw it instantly, it split the church ( the curtain) because people took sides, on what was the roll of the church, and How were we supposed to practice, those that had always known ( jesus talked about them ) Know that inherently that spirituality is NOT about rules.
the others didn't, the pharisees, did what jesus said they would do, they subverted his message for greed, and power. and it didn't work out well for them in the long run, they just keep turning up ina different form, and lately it has been the Bush administration. and the Zionists.
they are losing their grip on the people, and being exposed again.
and it is a beautiful cycle because it is the natural cycle, of birth to death, toir ebirth of the seasons, this time in behavior.

ALL of the faiths say the same thing. but the church used fear to convince them they will suffer eternally, even though jesus was saying don't do that.
