| Boggles the mind....no idea why someone is not excited by the prospect of raising someone else's kids and having all the fun that goes with it...
'You're not my mom/dad!'
'My ex is coming over for Christmas...its for the kids sake'
'Sorry I can't go out unless I bring the kids'
'My kid needs new $200 shoes'
Etc etc.
Very appealing.

| Try dating people who also have kids, they are in the same boat and are much more compassionate to the daily sacrifices and joy we get from our families....

I agree with that
But on that topic it does seem as though if the single parent is a woman then the guy is seen as selfish if he doesn't want to date her because she has kids....
Then when it is a single parent Father the woman is not seen as selfish merely not ready to settle down yet.... why the double standard I not upset just curious?

| as a single mom I can tell u I look for single dads, the reason being they r more likely then not stable, alittle crazy from pulling their hair out at times but still more stable and understanding then guys without kids. As a parent u know the trials we go thru and we have more in common, we both love our kids and sure some do have SPOILED kids but u know that as a parent the kids come first, and as they get older (mine's 10) they want u to be happy and have someone in your life other then them. people without kids can't understand when u r so tired from having to be up all night with a sick kid,,,like the kid did it on purpose...kids scare people that don't have them but if they were to take the time to get to know them then they might find out that they can love more then 1 person at a time.

| Hi Neighbor, I am sure there are women who would not be put off by your children, but perhaps the internet
is not where they are hanging out.... I would think your temple, church, synagog might be the best place to find
a sweet, motherly woman. Or perhaps some special interest groups or clubs, dog training, charity, etc. Best, alice

| Every single dad i have dated turned into a huge mess. But at my age most men have kids so i accept it and will love them to but as long as i am treated with respect. I think its the fathers job to teach his child or children to respect adults even if its not mom.

Don't let the naysayers get you down with their negativity. Keep looking and you WILL find someone that will accept you for what you are and you are a daddy. Plenty of women out there with kids. Try to find one with kids in the same age range.

| The guy I am talking to is filing for custody of his two year old grandson. I am thrilled and hope that all works out with us. I would be honored to parent with Mike. He is a great guy. His son recently was killed and the Mom is losing custody for personal reasons. Mike doesn't want his grandson to go to a foster home. I admire that in him. I think he is a great person, a great Papa and a wonderful Father!
I am a Foster Mom, I have raised 16 kids that were not "biologically" mine. but, I dare you to tell me those kids were not mine when they lived under my roof and I sat up with them at night when they were sick, took them to boy scouts, ball games, etc. I clothed them, fed them, took them to the dentist, doctor, hospital, etc. when needed.
They did not grow in my body but they grew in my heart! Some of them still visit and contact me. I gave one, Jay my Van when my husband and I divorced. He needed a vehicle and I had three. I signed it over to him, paid for his insurance for 6 months, bought his new tag, paid for the title transfer and filled it up with gas after the mechanic did a complete tune up on it. He was "mine" (child)in every sense of the word. He even called my only "biological" child to tell him, "I got Mom's Van in the divorce." I thought this was funny. Matt (my child by birth) told Jay, "You got some of your inheritance already. That sucks, man!"
You're a great Dad to raise your kids! Give them a hug and let them know there are ladies who would be honored to parent with you if they were available!
