| i dont think of it as a test but more of a learning/proving grounds. you learn who you are and what you believe. then you prove that it is you. who do you do it for is up to you. personally i do it for myself. dont take it wrong i believe in god and raise my kids to also but the best i can do in this world is live to be who i am. to thine own self be true.

| I sooooo have to reply to this Thread. Do I believe God exist?? YES! and incase I wasn't clear....YES God exist....all you have to do is look at anything around you. a tree..a blade of grass...the sky...do you really think this all happened with a big boom?? God gave his son to suffer..be beaten till he was bloody...and to DIE for all of us. even though he was dead and buried..he lives! Jesus Christ is the only way truth and life for any of us. And if I have offended anyone by my opinion { which by the way is only the truth} TOUGH! get over it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

| I dont wonder if God is real or not....I wonder about the people that live in world and view all the amazing beauty within it every day, and NOT believe!
Something else for everyone to think about...i've heard many people claim there was no God or they didnt believe there was, but when a loved one became ill or was seriously injured, you should hear how quickly they start to Pray to a GOD that 5 mins before they didnt believe existed! Funny how he only gets recognition when WE are in need!

| I absolutely believe 100% that GOD does exist! Everything around us, not to mention the birth of a child is a miracle and is only able to happen because of him. All I know is that I believe in him and I raise my children to do the same, as for the other people in the world, I don't judge them because that is not my place to do so.

On a lighter side..yes, I do believe that God exists...I believe there is a higher power..I believe that there is someone out there helping me get through all the tough times in my life..

| with no god there is no life. there are many forms to god (as there are many religions) but how can one dismiss someone that is wrote about in sooo many languages and boils down to the same guidance for living life in most of them.

I beg to differ on this point. I do not believe all devout people are closed-minded. I think it just depends on several variables (where you were born, what religion you were brought up in, etc.). And as a side note.... not believing in God is easy, it is believing that is so hard due to skeptics that need every little detail explained. Someone I know once said: "If you don't believe, no reason would be sufficient to make you believe. If you do believe, no excuse would be great enough to turn away from your belief."
Belief in God is so hard because it is a leap of faith. Faith, while it may be defined, is often hard to explain.

| Let me apologize if my statement offended some of you. I should not have generalised my statement and should have instead stated that in my personal experience most of the devout I have dealt with are closed minded, but not all are that way.
I respect your choice to believe, but when it comes to by beliefs can you afford me the same courtesy? I was raised in a religious home, I was confirmed and have since witnessed the hypocrisy of those who claimed to be believers in my families church including our "pure" Pastor. Let me ask you, there was just a recent news report on the radio where a man was arrested for sexually molesting his 4 week old baby daughter, what lesson was this supposed "sin-free" child to have learned from this attack? gods will, anyone who states that should choke on the words. I refuse to believe in a benevolent god that would allow such a thing to happen.
But yet, I digress.......the amount or depth of your belief is yours to quantify and mine is mine. Peace.

| No, I don't belive in any of them. There is NO evidence for a god. People belive in a god becouse of a deep seeded need to belive in something. It doesnt matter if it's real. If there where ANY evidence for a god there would be no need for faith.

| I've gone the gammitt on not so much if God exists, but which thought/religion makes sense...for me belief in something greater than me or a higher power then me exists everywhere I look; Judges, Law Enforcement, Teachers, Bosses, our nations laws....they all are higher in power then me, they put boundaries around my existence....so what is outside of them, and then again what is outside of that....and it just continues until you reach the infinite....GOD.
And yes I follow the carpenter who never asked to be called Lord, God, King etc, even though he stated he was.....he is my brother who said he came to serve me....So my understanding of God is alot less of what someone says the bible says and all about what my capenter brother said himself.

It was religion that killed tens of thousands of people during the crusades.
It's amazing to me there are people that can't wait to go back to those times.

I don't think it's right to blame an entire religion for the actions of people who have misconstrued what they read, or heard, or on people who have had a demented understanding of said religion. that's like blaming every german for the holocaust...

Wow....this is one of the most one-sided and misinformed posts I've read on these boards. Christianity also inspired people like Mother Theresa, Billy Graham, Martin Luther King Jr., Pope John Paul II, non-profit organizations like The Salvation Army, The Red Cross, and World Vision, not to mention thousands of Christian missionaries that go into the poorest and most destitute parts of the world every year to feed, clothe, and preach Christ to the poorest of the poor. The Church has had its problems, no doubt about it and it still does. Your view, however, is very one-sided.
