| I can't vote for one or the other, I like them both. I like the contemorary version of Amazing Grace, and I like the traditional. My job is not to judge the music, but to worship my Lord and Savior. All (not a few, ALL) things work according to His good purpose for those who love the Lord. Jesus wants that all should be saved, yet all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. My daughter would not be caught listening to my "music", but if she will listen to hard rock, and be saved, then hasn't it done it's purpose? We live in dangerous times, and our time is short. Third Day and Michael W. Smith, they reach thousands of unsaved every day. David sang and danced unto the Lord with all his soul, all his mind, and all his heart. Have we become so self-rightous in our beliefs that we would judg music sent to the contemporary artists by God? And, by the way, through the ages, the "traditional" hymns were at one time "contemporary Christian music", and said to be the work of the Devil.
I don't think WHAT you sing, or how you sing, or if you CAN sing is as important as singing it will all our soul, all our minds, and all our hearts.

| I love it, the Bible also says make a joyful noise. Singing praises to the Lord, brings us all closer to the Lord. I find deep peace in singing and praising the Lord. There are so many christian singers out there that I love to hear and sing along to. It's our blessing to praise and worship the Lord.

| The Bible also says, "It is better to hear the rebuke of the wise, than for a man to hear to song of fools" Satan's musical ability was never taken away from him. And he is using it to take down our young people. I'm surprised at how many adults are taken in by the satanic music. Has anyone ever read the history, from a biblical view, of music?
Col.3:16 tells what kind of music is Godly. And we, as Christians are not to partake of the worldly things. If you can't tell the difference between Rock, Rap, R&Blues, Country, and good Godly music, then there is no difference.

I didn't say good Godly music was satanic. I said Christians are not to partake of wordly things. Satan is the god of this world. There is good Godly music out there. All music has a sprirt behind it, wheather it be of God or wheather it be of satan. Rock music as well as country, Rap, and all the others I memtioned permote worldly things as well as the music itself has a rebellious spirit behind it.
Now getting back to what you said. I didn't say good Godly music was satanic. But so-called christian rock, rap, country, R&Blues, etc. is of the world. If we are Christian, we are to not be of this world or have anything to do with the things of the god of this world.
The words have no bearing on Christian Rock. It's the rebellious music people appeal to. Consider David when he played music to Saul. That was Godly music and it drove the evil spirit away from Saul. Music does have spirits behind it. Wheather it be of God or the devil.
And if anyone mentions that the music, (Rock, Rap, Country, R&Blues, etc..) is music of rebellion and goes against the word of God, Watch the anger come out of people. That anger is NOT of God. It is the spirit of rage from demons.

A very big Godbless you to Blessedlady. I am a bit puzzled as to what Char would call Godly music. Does it require harps, cellos and violins??? Is it the drums and guitars that make it satanic? I was listening to some of that satanic country music as I was traveling because our Christian radio station has changed formats and country was the lesser of the evils. Well this song came on that I had heard before called Baby Fall or something like that. Anyways I am having a really ruff time because my granddaughter is in Duke Hospital with lung problems, my daughter who is 19 is 9 hours away at school in TN with a nonfunctioning gallbladder and I am trying to coordinate her surgery in one town from a hospital room in another town and I am a fairly recent widow. I feel like I have all the worlds problems on me with no one to help. This satanic song was written by a man to a woman that she could put all her trouble and fears on him and fall and he would catch her. As I was hearing this song I Knew that it was God telling me that I could put all my problems on him and fall and he would catch me. It was telling me that I don't need a man to fall back on that no matter what he is there. God loves me when no one else does. God is ready to handle all my problems and that came from a "Satanic Song" go figure. Different people get inspiration from different places and as long as they are getting God's message it is not for us to judge.
Matthew 7:1 Judge not, that ye be not judged.

ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.

Col 3:16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.
I don't see Rock, Rap, Country, or any other kind of music listed. Do you. All Rock, Rap, Country etc., promotes is everything against the word of God. Putting so-called Christian words with that kind of music doesn't make it Godly. People still only appeal to the music.
Here is a list of instruments that God says can be used: Do you see drums in there????
Psa 150:3 Praise him with the sound of the trumpet: praise him with the psaltery and harp.
Psa 150:4 Praise him with the timbrel and dance: praise him with stringed instruments and organs.
Psa 150:5 Praise him upon the loud cymbals: praise him upon the high sounding cymbals.
When the total hypocrisy behind "Christian" Rock is revealed to people, four reactions usually follow:

Just wanted to put my two sense in. The music you are referring to wasn't the source or cause of falling down and worshipping, it was just the signal that told people to fall down and worship Nebuchadnezzar. Those instruments were also used to praise God during that time as well. Those verses are not talking about the music but of worshipping a man. And those three men were Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego. Forgive me if the spelling is off. And yes of course they were delivered out of the fiery furnace!
