| Is it possible to be repulsed by the strong emotion to HATE? I mean, can I actually HATE the idea of HATING you?
I would hope so. I would much rather forgive . . . or is that a cheap way of begging for forgiveness?
Some on DH would know.
Me? I cannot HATE. I have seen too much death. I have seen too many children. I have seen too many female eyes light at the attention of her man.
Crap. I can't even HATE HATE. I do love people.
Do you find yourself loving people despite all the crap that makes you think you shouldn't?

| You can't hate hate. It requires you to do the very thing you don't want to do in order to do the thing you do want to do. It requires you to both like and dislike hating at the same time. Its impossible by definition. It's like, "Don't think of a pink panda bear." Well, you have to think of it in order to know what not to think of.

| That is such a strong word I prefer not to use it no matter what the situation is. If I don't like someone or something I just let it go the other way. To me I'd rather love than hate. Because those 2 just collide with each other.

| You would not say that about a serial killer taking the life of one of your loved ones. Anybody can hate, it just takes the right situation.

| "Don't think of a pink panda bear."
I don't know about anyone else, but the panda bear I thought of was black and white...pink was just a word up there. Of course, I've always been a bit unconventional, so maybe I'm not surprised.
Bry,
I think it is possible to Hate Hate. Hate being an emotion of extreme dislike, you'd therefore extremely dislike those who hate or are hateful. Hateful being that of bigotted, predjudicial, or unfairly biased beliefs or actions. Like "love", hate is going to be elusive to define. Instead, it will bring to mind an idea or concept that we base on our own experiences, values, and opinions.
WARNING: This concept will NOT be the same for any other person!!!
I think that this is going to fall into the category of simply making a decision. Do I want to all day, or would I rather all day? Cognitively, I know which I'd choose, but sometimes the gets in the way.

I am not one to hate people but I will tell you, mess with my kids or my family and that goes right out the window. Love is like a wild rose, calm and beautiful but will draw blood at its defense! I would draw blood!!

| "Love is like a wild rose, calm and beautiful, but would draw blood at it's defense" Did you write that? Beautiful words. On topic, yes, I have hated, but have found that hate hurts the hater more than the one hated. It is better to try to forgive and that takes a lot of trying sometimes.

| I don't hate anyone or anything. I might dislike them for short periods but hatred suggests a loss of control, and I am always in control.

| When I was growing up we were not allowed to say the word hate. Not even if it was about liver and onions, which I dislike very very much.

| hate is a strong word, a strong emotion, and sometimes it feels good to feel it. i think it helps me cope with some of life's problems. i'm a generally happy person, but some days.... some days i have to hate someone, or i end up hating myself. or maybe i just don't know how to control my emotions, which is more than likely the case.

| HATE is a very powerful emotion and sometimes we use the word HATE too freely in everyday conversations, which we are all guilty of doing. I don't believe in HATING anyone or anything, it wreaks havoc on the person who allows this emotion into their heart and the people around them also feel their emotions. A strong negative emotion such as HATE not only hurts you physically and mentally it also affects you spiritially.
