Sometimes I don't log in and I watch and lurk. I have noticed personality changes in several people when they don't thing the so called "regulars" are online. You lurk for awhile and then pop in and the person flips back to another personality. I have noticed this several times. I'm just curious if anyone else has.

I haven't done that, but people watching can be interesting. I suppose some of it is people just trying to impress others, so they become a different person for that time. Perhaps some of it is just dictated by the kind of day a person is having. Some days I'm feeling a bit goofy, others I'm just tired...these things affect how I post in the Forums, but that's irrelevant of who's online at DH. I guess some folks just have a difficult time being who they really are all the time.

I used to date someone with multiple personalities, does that count? I am a gemini, so I have at least two personalities and it's not my fault!!

I know we are all trying to make a good impression, but why change your personality just because someone that you like or look up to or what ever starts posting. Shouldn't you be your true self all the time?

Gaurdian, I understand what you are saying. I'm not talking about being goofy or serious. I am talking about be good or bad morally correct or not so morally correct. Does that make sense?

I can't say that I have noticed that exactly... But I have seen people with different attitudes... I know I get cranky, goofy, tired, bored, and many more different feelings, and they affect how I post, just like how I interact with my friends in person.

Kirota, I agree with you and Guardian, you should be true to yourself. Nobody should change who they are to be acceoted or liked by someone else.

BTW how are you feeling?

I'm tracking now kirota. That goes back to impressing certain people...but regardless, I still believe that you should be who you are, and let people accept you for that. Impressing somebody be being something that you're not can only lead to problems down the road. Look at how many stories you hear about these "scammers" who pretend to be rich, or whatever, then when they're exposed as a phony, everyone is hurt. Who wants that in their life.

It can seem that way just from dry humor to serious ect. But more than one real personality change can be real scary I have known a few oner the years and wish to stay away from them or definatly the hidden side.

For everything there is a season,
and a time for every matter under heaven
a time to be born
and a time to die
a time to plant
and a time to pluck up what is planted
a time to kill
and a time to heal
a time to break down
and a time to build up
a time to weep
and a time to laugh
a time to mourn
and a time to dance

now, THAT is funny!

You mean like, they might act like a wh*re when no one is around, for example? Or just acting different in general. I've seen that!

I have chatted with some girls here and elsewhere that acted differently when I wasn't around.

I like for people to just be themselves. I might not want to date them, but I would still be their friend,,, as long as they are not being mean to people without provocation.

I have noticed that some become more graphic some get stronger morals. I mean there isn'ta line because we all float a little bit from one side to the other, but I'm talking about a total change. This isn't scammers I'm talking about. It is some of the people that post a lot. There's nothing wrong with it, but I just find it funny sometimes. You can tell who is posting by the way certain people post.

Reggie....you have it figured out what I am talking about. I mean I do talk in the sex and dating, but I wouldn't tell everything I do in bed just to get someones attention, because I am not that type. I might think it, but I don't say it.

No, PPK, you aren't one of them.

well, now we have finally touched on what I have seen in many sites.

There are those well-liked regulars that put on a well-liked front--- and they are "phonies"!

And the gullible ones just eat it up!

It is good to "lurk".

If you are talking with someone and they are pretending to be a decent person just because they know that you are decent.

You can catch them and save yourself from investing a lot of wasted time.
