hotcowgirl4u Martins Ferry, OH age: 54	Since Monday there has been a story about a cat that was horribly burnt and found over the weekend at a local park. The cat had to be put down. The vet and animal control people said it was the most horrible case of animal abuse they had ever seen. Today they picked up 3 juveniles for the undiscribable act. One of the idiots made a video of it on his phone, showed it to some others. They went to the police. They are talking of trying them as adults so the payback will be a little more harsh than under juvenile court. My heart hurts for the defenseless creature. His little heart musta been tough though to have the will to live as long as he did. At first they thought the cat was a victim of a house fire in the area. But with Halloween being Friday and none of the fires in the area had any pets missing-well it wasn't hard for the aurthorities to figure out. I have cried several times over the horror of it. Animals, children and old people are ours to protect, to love, to cherish. They offer us the most--that being love, wonder and wisdom.

hotcowgirl4u Martins Ferry, OH age: 54	When I think about the absolute horror that cat went thru--you know it would have walked up to them with no fear, expecting a pet or some kind act. And only got death. A slow horrid death. The cat was with people who showed him kindness and love at the end. I like to think he knew that thru the pain. When it showed on the tv the first time the vet was crying, they then edited that part out, I don't know why. It was hard to watch but that part should have been kept in to drive it home to everyone!!!!!

robbie81 Orlando, FL age: 27	I never understand why people do these kinds of things. I've heard of plenty of people doing mean things to cats or other small animals. My question is always the same: WHY? To me it may just be an extension of the golden rule. I don't enjoy pain, so I try not to cause pain be it a person or a creature.

potpie71 Gig Harbor, WA age: 37	The really terrifing part about violent acts done like these to animals, is that the "kids" who do it, usually grow up to become even more dangerous, turning their aggressions into rape, murder, etc... Since this has been psychologically proven, I hope the judge takes this into consideration and orders psych evaluations for all of them, as well as the stiffest punishment possible. Dirty little sons-a-biatches.... Poor, poor kitty...

lavendarblue Bay Springs, MS age: 57	It hurts my heart to hear about such atrocities. I believe in the fact that if a person does not like animals or mistreats animals that they are not good people. For you see it is proven that people who abuse animals treat people the same way they treat animals. We must make new and stronger laws to protect the innocent lives and comfort of our animals.

almsthvn Moundsville, WV age: 39	yeah i seen this on the news one morning, and it made me sick, like sick to my stomach. not sure what it was, they lit...but this is torture and no living thing should do this to another. The kids need some serious counseling, these are the kids that could grow up to be serial killers and should be taken as a red flag. [Edited 11/6/2008 5:25:12 AM]

lust4love Atco, NJ age: 38	Yes ,kids that abuse animals are displaying signs of mental Illness forming.Unfortunatley People with true Mental Illness can not be held accountable for their actions in the court of law.Or so Ive heard.
