1. Yes
2. No
3. Don't Care

I am curious on the opinions of Utahans in regards to the LDS church's involvement on Prop 8. Were they just trying to make the world a better place by donating millions towards Prop 8 or are they just pushing there beliefs onto others?

Should they have been involved at all in the democratic process of Prop 8.

Does this infringe on the separation between church and state?

The LDS Church sticks their nose in everything here in Utah and now they are getting involved in something that should be separated....Church and State and Politics. I would love to see their right of not paying taxes taken away.

There isn't enough love in the world and if you happen to find it with the same sex, then more power to you. Hell, it's not like we need to replenish the world with more children...and that was part of the reason for Polygamy in "THE" church to begin with. Well, about time that the higher ups in the LAND of ZION became real people instead of brainwashed flunkies.

Ann, it's more than just a moral issue. It's a point of taking someones rights away because they don't believe the same as you. Do you know any gay people? Do you have any gay friends?

Yes I do know some gay people and have one I consider a friend. But I am still not for same sex marriage.

What's funny about Utah politics is how red it is. It's the 2nd reddest state in the union behind Idaho. Think about all of the state senetors and legistlators. How many of them are Mormon? When you think about politics in Utah is there really a seperation of Church and State? I'm going to say no. A prime example of that is Utahs silly liquor laws! Think about how many LDS churches there are in this state. How many Demecrat Mormons are there? If the Mormon church wants to get involved in Goverment policys, they should not be tax exempt!!

lol how funny.... heck look at the money our govt. could make if we started taxing all the churches. Not sure why people want to down the LDS church... you realize the LDS church sends food and help to almost every disaster that happens all over this world.

Given that there are quite a number of LDS members in California, yes.

Given that they represent less than 2% of the population, not to the extent that they were.

20+ million was plain and simply over the top . I think 2-3% of the 40 or so million that would've otherwise been spent (that's 1 million for those of you would can't do math) would have been more "appropriate".

The LDS church has now opened the doors for California voters to start interfering with our affairs. (Shhh! If you don't already know this, California has more money available to screw with our legal system than we do to screw with theirs!)

Ya know what else is funny about the Utah voter is how they can just push the button to vote down party lines with out even thinking of who or what they are voting for. There are alot a politicians that I can believe get voted in every single election "Orrin Hatch come to mind"

Yes and a lot of politicians buy their spots in the government but it doesn't make them right.

Here's something to ponder. Why doesnt the mormon church take all those vacant churches during the week and make some private mormon elemetary junior high and high schools out of them. I dont have kids and i'm penelize by taxes and people who have 10 kids dont pay for their education. why is there no private mormon schools?
