| Men are not really afraid of marriage. They generally enjoy their cake and ice cream together. They want both worlds. Once they grow up, then they will settle down.

| marriage has turned into a legal and financial obligation to most men. when i get the dog, house, kids and retirement, maybe the threads will be asking why women are affraid of marriage and committment.....

| i agree with ranger - i have seen so many men get hung out to dry after a divorce - some women are really brutal to these guys. JMO so maybe he is just worried about that - i hope i dont piss anyone off with this response.

| Not all men are afraid of marriage. I've been there twice and working on as many devorces. Eventually I'll go there again (marriage that is). From my experence I believe men are conditioned just like females are. Most of us on this site have been through more than their fair share of bad relationships. We've all made our mistakes and made some of them twice. Most of us have learned from them. Which mean we are smarter and better people than we were. When a person has a history of making decisions with his heart and the end result is pain, anger and being alone. That person learns to questions his heart. Then he starts trying to use his head. When men think about marriage, RISK comes to mind (emotional and financial). The older we get, the less risk We like to take! Which mean we have to put in more effort than we use to and so does the females! We need more reassurance than ever! I don't think sleeping or not sleeping with us is the deciding factor! Don't get the wrong picture, pre-marital sex is great - that sometimes lead to marriage- which sometimes leads to devorce - which all started with communication and chemistry!

| For me personally, I have witnessed what divorce is like amongst my family and friends and I swore I will never go through a divorce. Every woman who I dated since I was in my 20's knew right up front that I will never marry them.
