| We always open one present on Christmas Eve and then get up early to see if Santa came.
The adults start putting the Christmas dinner on and the snack foods out to tide everyone over. It is a time for family to get together and love one another. After dinner and clean up we play cards or board games and laugh and tell stories.
I can't wait.

| We kind of lost those traditions you mentioned when my grandparents died. I'm going to be having Christmas dinner at my place this year. I'd like to watch some old movies on Turner Classics or maybe catch one of the new ones that are coming out Christmas day. There's one about an old man that gets younger as time goes by. I'd like to see it. I'm going to play it by ear and just enjoy the day.

It is never too late to start your own traditons. My daughter fills my stocking every year now. She is gone on a cruise this year and even though she is 18 I managed to sneak a stocking in her suitcase for her to find.

This is sad. I have had to work on Christmas myself several times, but it is so much more than just another day even then. Christmas is so special. It is a time of giving and if the giving is of yourself it is even more special. So often I have Christmas before or after the actual holiday and sometimes even all three. If I can speak to or be with loved ones whether they are family by blood or family by heart and choice it is a wonderous time. I hope you get the enjoyment of the true spirit of Christmas this year and make some traditions of your own.
