| I am a single, independent mom, and I believe that I have my s#*t right ..... until it comes to being in a relationship! I work my a** off to take care of me and what is mine, I now have 3 jobs, go to school, no drama, yet I do have high expectations of the man I am in search of ..... he has to make his own money , be respectful, and loyal upon a list of many other things. I am very outgoing sometimes maybe even outspoken which is a fault of mine ! I have been single for a couple years now , so am I just too picky or do I intimidate guys ?? Some with this would be nice -Eryca

| Wow be_enlightened ... my hat is off to you. Three jobs and a mom too. What you want in a man is not uncommon. As far as outspoken, I'm that way too. I can only be who I am.

| Eryca , i don't see anything wrong with being selective in your choices.
Besides you are truly asking for someone responsible with a job and a head on his shoulders
Isn't that what we all want?
Anyhow i am heading out to the shower!
Good luck to you and everyone else!

| Be picky, you are worth the right man! To some degree I have found it is intimidating to some guys for a women to be independent. But this does not mean she would not be interdependent when in a relationship. Some people lack something within themselves and if the person can not and/or does not appreciate you and all you have done/are doing, then drop them and move on. You deserve better. No drama needed in your life needed. Spend time developing a healthy relationship. You be who you are. Don't let someone else's underlining issues cause you to waiver.
Have you ever read the book entitled "Date or Soulmate?"?
Good luck and get some rest in there somewhere.

| BE, you have way too much going for you (looks like u got the shit together) not to be picky. You'll do fine. Just don't compromise your expectations too much. You seemed to soar, look for another eagle.

| Hats off to you Be_enlighten. My only concern would be when would you find time for the guy in your relationship. Seems that if he has a good job, maybe you could drop one if it got serious. Just a thought. Good luck...

| You have the right to be picky, and to share time with someone who puts as much effort into their future.

I'm picky too, although I've reflected a lot these past 18 months or so and edited my so-called "wish list." I edited it because I realized some old bitterness etc., had distorted my thoughts and thus my wants ... But I'm always trying hard to develop and improve myself over my faults. Fix them buggers if I can. Face 'em and tame 'em if I can't fix them. (wheres the lion tamer icon???)
But we all have the right to be as picky as we want to be ... I think I'm picky because I have so many interests and hobbies and am extremely intellectually and emotionally complex and varied and sensative ... ( in other words --->)
But I also realize that the more picky we are, the fewer possibles are out there. It's trade off we have to be willing to make. And for me, the sorrow and empitness of the rest of my life alone is not JUST QUITE so bad compared to yet another painful relationship. so I'm being picky.

| perhaps you have too much going on? i'm not saying that 3 jobs and persuing an education is bad. but many guys may look at that and thing you don't have much time left to begin a relationship of any kind more than just "thanks for the service. will let you know next time my schedule is open."
