| I just want to warn people about the scammers that operate on these sites. I have encountered a few and there were red flags early on. The people I refer to are often from Nigeria. They pose as Americans, use fake photos of very attractive, irresistible people that literally take your breath away. They often take their profiles off the dating sites soon after making contact because they are sure they found their soulmate (you) even though you've never even met. Actually they are often kicked off the site for fraud. They often pen beautiful love letters but often with very poor spelling and grammar. There are places on the Internet that show photos of some of these scammers and I think we all need to be cautious and report these people to the site. It never went this far with me but I understand that vulnerable, good-hearted people are being conned out of money too. There is always a tragic sob story to elicit your sympathy and your cash. Well I'm very angry and I've had my say. Thought I was emailing the man of my dreams and boy was I wrong. Now I know exactly how they operate. Be careful out there folks and best wishes with your search. Any other stories out there?

| You also need to be concern with those from Russia and the ukraine, it is
big business there. Google russian marriage scams and there is a site
put together by an american who lives there, and he investigates a lot of
this stuff. The information is helpful..saved me from a scammer from a while
back. don't remember the site, but you should be able to find it.

| not only should you be aware of people from other countries but also within our backyards... there are children who also sneak into these forums... so be aware of all...

| I had 2..sent me emails about how I was what they were looking for (we never even emailed) and so on and so on. Turns out I get another email, from the same person, with a diff screen name. What a dope!. I copied and pasted the 1st email to the 2nd one and never heard from either (or that person at least) any more. They are still operating on line altho I did alert the admin about them
***BE CAREFUL*** WHEN THEY START TELLING YOU ALL THE STUFF YOU'D EXPECT TO HEAR FROM SOMEONE YOU'VE KNOWN AWHILE... DELETE AND BLOCK***

| also what miskabaci said that there are those in the states, especially
younger men and women who like to hit on the older crowd, figuring we are
easy targets because we are either lonely or super horny for the young stuff

| well iam from kingston jamaica and i believe some on here believe iam a scammer cause of my poor grammer but i asure you iam not i don't ask for money are try to play any games like i've tryed to say a person with money can't do no more for me then a poor person can
so if any one thing that about me is offend big time but if any every read my threads they would know that all i ask for is friendship maybe love

| Wow, can i relate to what you said, i have recieved so many of those, i now tell them if someone writes to me, if you are in another country, please dont bother righting back. I have had wayyyyy more than a few of those.

| Hey do what I did...have fun with the scammers. Heres my story:
I met the gorgeous chick on Fling.com, we talked everyday for about a month before her true colors came out. She talked about how she recently moved from Edison NJ to Africa because her boyfriend was abusive. She asked me if I could send money to come back to the states. At this point I was, uhuh...gotcha. So me being the smartass I am, said, instead, let me come out there. She got all quiet on me. I told her I could come out there next week. After that her profile and name were deleted.

| Best one I heard yet Darkclawz! Way to go! Someone also told me he strung along a scammer for a while too pretending he was very wealthy and gullible and he was going along with her sweet talk via email and then when she was supposedly at a hotel to come meet him in the U.S. she called and said the hotel cost more than she expected or something so could he please send her some money by Western Union or something but when he said he wanted to use his credit card and make payment directly to the hotel, she hung up. What makes these people think Americans are so stupid, so rich and so gullible???? Makes me furious. But want to make it perfectly clear that I am not saying that all Nigerians online are scammers. Obviously there are scammers in every country. But as they say what goes around comes around.

| Just found my "Romeo"'s photo on a scammer website. It's pathetic! There are thousands of pics on there and most of these people probably don't even realize their photo has been stolen. Isnt' that fraud???? Impersonating another person?????
