This was actually written by a 15 yr. Old School kid from ARIZONA.

New School prayer:

Now I sit me down in school
Where praying is against the rule
For this great nation under God
Finds mention of Him very odd.

If Scripture now the class recites,
It violates the Bill of Rights.
And anytime my head I bow
Becomes a Federal matter now.

Our hair can be purple, orange or green,
That's no offense; it's a freedom scene.
The law is specific, the law is precise.
Prayers spoken aloud are vice.

For praying in a public hall
Might offend someone with no faith at all.
In silence alone we must meditate,
God's name is prohibited by the state.

We're allowed to cuss and dress like freaks,
And pierce our noses, tongues and cheeks..
They've outlawed guns, but FIRST the Bible.
To quote the Good Book makes me liable.
We can elect a pregnant Senior Queen,
And the 'unwed daddy,' our Senior King.
It's 'inappropriate' to teach right from wrong,
We're taught that such 'judgments' do not belong.

We can get our condoms and birth controls,
Study witchcraft, vampires and totem poles.
But the Ten Commandments are not allowed,
No word of God must reach this crowd.

It's scary here I must confess,
When chaos reigns the school's a mess.
So, Lord, this silent plea I make:
Should I be shot; My soul please take!

Amen

Theres more truth in that then I want to accept.
This country is getting scarry.
I think Hitler had a similar law against speaking
out and Mussilini-commies and the list goes on.
When Bush states" Guys We need to pick up all
firearms, we need them to help Homeland Security
I am headin out.
I believe in individual Homeland Security.
My weapons-my security

forcing anyone to pry to god yours or anyones is wrong ,, why just because half the population believes it so if the principle or superintendant is wicken they should have chants in the morning boy that would piss off the christians wouldn't it who or what makes you right?? i think that all religions should be taught in schools but none of them practiced there you have home and church for that and if you read your bible the best form of prair is the meditation no one in the bible put pen to paper and wrote when they were surounded by a crowd....you can preach on any streat corner and in any building dedicated for suck purpose why should you do it in public buildings ?? there is a seperation of churck and state for a reason and it should be that way shoving your religion down someones throat just because you think it's right makes you far worse than anyone trying to take it out of a school or court...i for one want my children to use thier own well informed intelegent opinion to decide thier religion or lack there of not what the teacher of a class pushed on them at a very young and vonerable age...thats what the religions are really pissed about they can't shove it down kids throats and brain wash them before they are informed enough to make thier own decision...JMO

Separation of church n state.

The goobermint has no bidness in religion.

BTW conservative right wing propaganda belongs in a political thread.

excuse me...

i am all for 'to each his own' but yes i do draw the line.gotta be somewhere.right?
i don't care how someone dresses or colors their hair or what religion they are.
when a school can give condoms out to ELEMENTARY children but cant notify the parents of a child's PREGNANCY.that's wrong.
there are so many wrongs that become rights,we are disillusioned about our actual rights.
i too agree that big bro often oversteps his bounds.someone has to.and just as you and i make mistakes,so does he.
OUR court system is filled with wants that want to become rights.how is it that here in America,a prisoner gets a free college education while parents work second jobs to pay for their own kids?
give me a break!
the very founding of this country was based on choice.but a choice that GOD would enable and encourage.our founders made us well aware of this.
GOD belongs in our society.but should not be debated in courts as to where he is welcome and not. where did one nation under god come from?those who fought and died to protect that made sure he is always here.
seems to me that if you SO badly hate the fact that GOD is part of this great nation of ours, then spend that MONEY that has IN GOD WE TRUST on each and every piece.start a new life.exercise your right to leave!

I've read that before, and yeah how this country is getting is disturbing... everythings taxed beyond belief, The gov's wallets are getting fatter and fatter while we're getting poorer and poorer it seems....Some people need to ditch their highpaying salaries and learn what it's like to be on borderline broke and things like that.

Can't say or do the wrong things without others getting offended royally... ugh it's so freakin' annoying...

The pilgrims or puritans left England coz they weren't happy w/King George's State run Church of England.

Your God n every1 n any1 else's deity belongs w/you n @ your house not in the gubbermint.

Any money not backed by gold or silver needs ya 2 trust in somebody or somethin'.

Under God came in 1954, it was added on.

To my knowledge the USA was never involved in a holy war and as such never fought for any deity but for democracy which so many people believe in, are alright with so long as you believe in their brand.

It's all good. It ain't your country, it ain't my country, it's our country.

Yes this is the revised version. I knew what posting this would bring as I'm sure the gent that posted it was aware of as well. I'm not interested in debating religion or politics. America ain't perfect but neither am I...................

Wow! That was great!

I just can't get over it!

This kid wrote from the heart......just tells you what
alot of kids are thinking these days.

It's obvious not very many of the parents are teaching any
type of morality these days. Gee..I wonder why there is
so much teenage pregnancy, teen drinking & drug abuse
teeenage crimes...and it's just getting worse. It starts
in the home. No longer any dress codes? How can kids really
concentrate on even learning and studying? Have you seen the kids
of today? 70% of them have well over 50% of their bodies barely
covered....showing their "goods." Their minds are very
impressionable....but that doesn't really matter does it? Nah.
Who cares anymore? Just what ARE we teaching them these days?

That there are no boundaries, there are no rules, there is no
respect for common dignity anymore? We're supposed to swallow
the idea that it just doesn't matter, it doesn't negatively affect
them? That "everything" is okay to do or say, that there are
no consequences for anything anymore? Believe it or not that's
what we are teaching them.

And just what is so wrong with God anyway? Somehow showing and
teaching true love and compassion for our brothers & sisters, teaching
that morality, respect and decency is a necessary thing in society,
that there are consequences for bad behavior....is a BAD thing?
Parents sure aren't teaching them these days...just ask the teachers
of today, they get the brunt of all the bad behavior!
Prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance used to be standards. What
next, take away The Star Spangled Banner song at sports games???
Don't bother replying to this. I have SEEN the decline in society
in the last 35 years.....go ahead cover your eyes, turn a deaf ear
and pretend it isn't so. JMO JMO JMO

Just remember:

The very 1st Amendment in the Bill of Rights is freedom OF religion,
not FROM religion! JMO JMO JMO

your right it does say freedom of religion but whose religion??? i'm native american and i don't believe in one god so am i wrong to want my children to believe what i do??? no one says catholics are wrong for wanting thier children to bo catholic..religion doesn't belong in government and government doesn't belong in religion there for it shouldn't be in school(that is government by the way) as far as the decline of humanity 100 years ago people weren't suck great people either and 50 years ago people weren't so great either ..yes sex is talked about more openly now but that makes it easier for a raped woman or molested child to come forward,,50 or 100 years ago they never did not because it didn't happen but because no one wanted to open thier eyes and see it or hear about it but i guess that is a negative progression...we have native american, african american ,mexican american etc business owners and politicians today 50-100 years ago those same people couldn't get a job of any kind another negative progression i guess..drugs yeah thier bad because society says so well that same good ole days everyone talks about there were just as many drugs then no one talked about them then it either wasn't illegal at the time ir it was swept under the rug because it was taboo to talk about our problems and seek help AA,NA, rehab , detox all more bad progressions i guess..morals are something that only a parent can teach you have your children are with you for 5 years befor they enter the world of school and socialy and usually 18-20 before they enter the "real world" don't blame the rest of sociaty if you raised a bad kid MTV didn't do it mom and dad did!!! as far as "if you don't believe in or like god get out " f*ck you this was truely a free country before the english came with god in thier hands and lies in thier mouths ,my ancestors were here long before that and doing just fine with out your religion,,,besides you helped prove a point if you don't believe what i believe your wrong and you shouldn't be here isn't that what suposedly brought the english here in the first place..absolutly my opinion

everybody has a point and valid ones at that.but we can't all have our way.this is supposed to be one country united.we are united on almost nothing.where does it say you have to believe in the same god as me?nowhere.your choice.but dont tell me or the gov't what you consider acceptable and what you dont.this is ridiculous!we had shapespere as required reading in school.now they are banning it as sexually explicit?give me a break.if we all sue for what we want and don't want......and we are all right....where the hell does that leave us.you have to stand up for something.right now we stand for nothing at all.be united on something........anything.
and parenting,or lack thereof is a big reason why the decline in morals.years ago, when a child acted up,we were allowed disipline.now, parents are afraid of getting sued.schools cant do it cause we'll sue their asses too! where does it all end?

I do not support forcing anybody to pray to my God, which happens to be the Judeo Christian one, but I also can not stomach the government making it a crime to do so. Nor would I conversely support the supression of any religious or spiritual belief.

Far better in my mind for the schools to offer a period of silent reflection/meditation/prayer where the students can do any of or all of the three in their own belief system.

JMO but more than a few of this countries current problems directly stem from the breakdown in the traditional family unit along with the lack of teaching our children the values and morals that keep a society cohesive.

Honesty, integrity, personal responsibility, compassion, respect and service to others, as well as a host of other values know no religious boundaries and religion is only one of many tools available to impart those values on our children.

Take a good look around you.............see much of those displayed anywhere?? You wonder why there are so many corporate and government corruption scandals? You wonder why the prisons are overflowing? You wonder how and why things like Columbine could happen.

That all being said I have not and do not impose my personal belief system on others........but I have made damn sure that my children know what I feel and belief and how I think. What they do with it becomes their system.
