I wish I would have stayed married when I was younger. If two people get together when they're still young, they haven't had a lot of experiences and they make their own history together. Although I've met some decent men on these sites, it seems that when people get older, they are so set in their ways and so used to their own little routines and way of living that it's difficult for a new relationship to work. Most men are messy, but just try to get those prescription bottles off the end tables and into the medicine cabinet or try to get those coffee cans, old egg cartons, and dirty cups off the sink ... you'll be in big trouble because ... "That's where I've always kept them." Gawd! Whaddaya think? Can an old dog learn new tricks?

better when you're older. i have never married but now than i'm older i'm not afraid of the word anymore. been close 4 times but did't do it AN OLD DOG CAN LEARN NEW TRICKS

It is better to marry when you are in love. Unfortunately you can't marry any younger than you are. I sometimes regret leaving my wife then sometimes when I spend a few moments with her helping her out with something I remember what it was like living with her. I'm closer than ever with my son and oddly enough he surprised the heck out of me a few years ago when I was teaching him how to drive and he said, you are certainly less mad then mom when you are letting me drive, which surprised me a lot. I am 59 years old and do not want to spend the rest of my life by myself, so in that regard, it would have been better to have married once than twice but I if I ever meet anyone that I want to spend the rest of my life with, I guess it will have to be now instead of earlier. I hope this makes some sense.

Married @ 19... big mistake! Married for 13 miserable years! Travel, enjoy life before you make that life altering decision! I wish I had waited until I knew what I knew what I wanted out of life before getting married. It is easier when you have the same goals for the future!

I was married at 36 to a man 10 years older than me. He was set in his ways and was use to being single for so long. So I don't think it really matters what age.

Marry young so you can get the divorce over before you too old to start again. And yes the odds are better that you will be divorced. I think its less than 50/50 anyone stays married.

The only problem when your youung is that as you mature you can grow to what different things .. My ex husband married when we were 19 and 20 , we had three boys 24 and 22 and 10 ,, we stayed married for over 17 years ,, and I think when my ten year old was born we realized just how different we had become ... never any cheating , never any abuse , never any thing other then growing up and apart ,, so I would say you never can tell I have friends who married young and celebrating 24 years on Monday ... it really is anyone's guessing game .... good luck

I was in my 30's when I got married and it didn't work,..and I see my neighbors in there 20's with two children almost the same ages as my kids and they look so perfect. I know nobody is but it just seams so much easier for them. I guess it really just comes down to the two people.

Either that or it's because when you're younger you tend to overlook & forgive easier. I've gotten crotchety in my "old age"! LOL

I think I have always been ready for marrage, just that the woman I date are not.(Maybe this means I am not?)

People get married because the biological impulses tell them that the time is correct. For some, that time is in their teens. For others, it might be middle age. My two dearest friends finally tied the knot two years ago after a 40 year courtship. Most people marry for reasons of love. There are some who marry for financial gain, status, or because all of their friends are getting married........not the most mature of reasons, but it happens. It all boils down to different strokes for different strokes. The lucky ones are those who find themselves still holding hands as they walk down a lane 50 years later.
