I mean I would love to be able to stay home and school my daughter, but being the only parent and only my income - I can't. Sometimes they need to interact with other kids it can help them in ways also. Do what you think is best for your kids.

Although I totally advocate homeschooling, IF YOU HAVE THE APPROPRIATE SKILLS, anyone who is bipolar would have to seriously stick with their meds to even consider it.

definitely!!

though i was not able to home school my kids, they were educated in a private Christian school. Those kids who were home schooled, played sports and did all sorts of activities at our school. home school without outside activities? no way. I'm sure if she's thinking it, and you can afford it, you will gain a much better education for your children than offered in public schools. but, that depends on you too. its more work than you can imagine, so, are your kids worth it?

public schools... read an article just last night in the paper. 'Ohio goes after Charter schools that are failing' was the title. this was the interesting part.. 57% of charter schools are in academic watch or emergency, compared with 43% of traditional public schools in Ohio's big cities.
the article is rather large in content, but those numbers just jumped out at me. only 43% of public schools are in emergency watch for failing??? get real!! thats acceptable? let's run over there and build moral and give them all awards for something.. being able to tie their shoes, combing their hair every day, brushing their teeth most days, keeping their fingernails trimmed at least twice a year. 43%....

I home schooled 4 of my 6 for 10 years. the are all in public school now that I moved to the city.
1.It really all depends on her "Mom" dedication. Is she a devoted mom despite her prob?
2.How much will you be involved.
3. what program is she considering?
4.will some of the children classes be at public school.
5, Has Mom lived a fairly disciplined life?

She will not allow anyone to be involved. No classes will be in public schools. Her life growing up was VERY ANTI SOCIAL. Was raised very Italian old school.

why?
I've taught in public school and PREschool and middle school out in the bush Ak. Home- school at a very remote location, then homeschooled the kids in the city . we utilized some more public programs allowed through the program.
anyway my parents didn't know they were smart enough to teach us.

Its all in the teacher, and/but If daddy says NO he has a say.
Public school here in the city has been pissy only because if he/child doesnt understand or misses a day he doesnt learn thath concept. etc., i taught my children until they learned the concepts. Loved teaching still do blah a blah bla h tired of hearing myself BS you
