| Yes I have had a few friends that I only knew from online but got to know pass away. I received an email from one of their relatives telling of their passing. It is sad that I can't contact them but then I do think of all the fun times we had passing jokes back and forth, telling about things happening in our daily life. That I remember best of all ... just the fun stuff ... happy times

| Yes, that can be disorienting.
I used to play online chess and had several people disappear from the site. A son came online and posted info to one profile. Had one guy disappear for awhile and came back explaining that he had had a mental breakdown.
There isn't much you can do because of the distance. Just grieve in a way that you need to. Whatever way you think is okay for you.

| Hi, I was in a yahoo chat about 3 yrs. ago and this guy said he was going to kill himself. The people never paid any attention,so I got him on im, and tried to talk to him--just a young boy-----he had a gun,and told me at 8:00 he would do it. I kept talking faster--but at 8:00 he never answered again.
I was so upset for a week or two--and also angry at the others in that chat room---
Take care and always take people serious when they say that---nite-nite--Pat.::
