| I think that women tend to go for the "walmart cowboy" more often than true cowboys as myself. I have to wonder if it's more of a fantasy for a woman to want to be with a cowboy but don't realize that the real ones are the same dy in and day out, not just on the weekend.
I get tired of those straw hats that meke it look as though a person has been thrue something ruff and tough like bull riding. i competed as a professional bull rider and know the difference. | Here's my take on it, for what its worth...I dont know if girls are more attracted to the Walmart cowboys or if there are just more of them out there....Its real easy to pretend!! As for me I only want the real deal..Dont talk to me about what you have done unless you can back it up....I meta guy a few years back that boasts and brags about being a cowboy and I knew more about horses than he did!! I was raised on a working horse ranch and I only want the real thing....JMO

| Back in my day they were called "coca-cola cowboys" I was raised in Texas and daddy always said you can tell a real cowboy by what is on his boots. And that is the truth.

| This reminds me of a funny story. Shortly after my ex and I were married we went to the family farms. My grandmother told him that my dad and uncles were working cattle the next day and he should join them. Of course, my ex (wanna-be cowboy that he was) was thrilled at the opportunity to work cattle. When we went to bed that night, he asked me what "working cattle" means. I told him he'd just have to wait to find out.
The next morning I took him to meet my dad and uncles. Of couse, knowing what was going to be happening I got as far away as possible (really can't stand to hear the babies & mommas cry). I went back over later to check on him. Apparently, he got over any squemishness he may have felt & was ducking down so the cattle wouldn't see him and get spooked as they entered the squeeze chute...that's when it happened...he backed right into the branding iron that was hanging on the fence post. The goofball had to run around with 1/2 of a 3 branded into his shoulder for a few years.

| desperate?........lol...i think not I have no problem getting women, i meet a lot of people as a singer, song writer, performer, and cowboy. the toughest breed of cowboys are the true bull riders who train as i do. yes i do have bull shit on my boots but am finding a lot more hanging from the lips of some of the people on here. this is just something fun for me to do, and "REAL" women are getting scarce these days. I have a lot of cowboy pride, love my freedom and speak freely and honestly.

As far as the boots, sure a guy can barely walk though the pasture and get them dirty but if your around enough cowboys you can tell the real work dirt from just getting them dirty. JMO
