Have you ever dated someone that you thought was perfect or fit what you were looking for to a "T"...only to find out that their kids are spoiled rotten? How do you handle that?
A close friend of mine is going through this one, and the kids are making her life a living hell. He is divorced, and his kids are perfect in his eyes and can do no wrong. Where as her daughter, living with her, he calls on anything she does wrong. (hope that made sense) Basically he can only see when her kid does something wrong.

I don't know how close your friend and this man are or how long they have been dating, but if I were in this situation, I would have to think about getting out of it.

I'm sure the man will take the side of his kids and she will take the side of her kids in any situation, eventually his kids will resent her and her kids and the same will happen between her kids and him. Hope that made sense

I would rather be unhappy myself by leaving the relationship instead of risking my kids resenting me or hating me by staying in a relationship where they wern't being treated fairly. Again, I hope that made sense to someone.

Been there done that and it only gets worse. I am so glad to be past that stage of worrying about kids in a relationship. I have raised mine and I don't want to raise anymore. Being in a relationship where they visit or being a grandparent is fine but I don't think I could do the full time custody man thing. Maybe under 5... But after that they are teenagers in training...no thanks.

I had this happen to me.....Months ago...... I was dating this man....We talk on the phone for over 1 and a half months even before I agreed to go on a date.... And then we did, all was good until I met his kids..... At first they would come in and make us do what they wanted, all the time...... He would let them......Then one day, I just couldn't take it any longer....I got up and got them ask them to sit down and had a talk.....

I told them look Im not here to take Dad away, we are just getting to know each other...

Ive got kids their ages too....So I knew where they were coming from.... We talked it through, and all was good after that..... But I did find out later that the Dad was making them treat me that way..... He was a sick person...... And sometimes the kids do things to please their parents too..... This really trip me the hell out.... And no I don't see this man no more..... broke this off many months ago....

So this is up to you..... the kids were older, ages 13 and 17 so it really depends on there ages how to handle this problem....

But you do need to decide what you want to do.....Not sure if this well help you any....

Up to a certain age ... children are a direct reflection upon the parents (or parent). If his kids are spoiled brats ..... well then, you can gain some knowledge from this. Not all aspects of someone's personality become apparent just by looking at that person. Some things only manifest themselves when you look at the halo of connections surrounding that person. It's why a person's friends (and who he or she chooses to associate with) can be a deal breaker in a relationship (normally we hang out with people we respect, understand, or idolize to some extent. This is a very crucial piece of information about a person) ... and also, how a person raises their children.

I dated a man in spring that had a 7 year old son,,,,,this kid was like horrible, one day i asked him if he wanted some french fries when i was making his meal for him and he looked at me and told me to shut up STUPID,,,,,,,man,,,,,that went thru me like a rock,,,,,,,,,,,,he did that like sev times that day and his dad did not say a thing...........By the end of the visit........I had done made up my mind what I was going to do and on his way out I did tell him,,,,,,that I was done,,,,,,,,I couldnt live like that...............He called me up the next day and told me I was the bad guy lol

Hello lady i understand all to much, i tried for three years to put up with a spoiled stepson it caused problems and ended in a divorce, it was either him or me , and i couldnt ask her to choose, so i left.
