hello everyone I missed the friends I had made the short time I was here,took my profile off for awhile my son who is my whole world to me decided to join the army,I spent 17 years of my life in the military hoping to make a better life for him so he didnt end up in the military.I have seen war from Bosnia to Iraq to afgainistan to holding a baby in somlia and have them die in your arms and your helpless to do anything.Why the world has to be such an ugly place is beyond me.we wave the old red white and blue say hey we are only here to help,we kill in the name of god country and freedom when it only comes down to your a soilder they are a solider doing the same thing you were trained to do it isnt personal it becomes your job.And now the only thing I have in my life that has ment anything to me for all these years is going off to war and Im not sure Im good with that Im scared sadd and just feel empty inside.His girlfriends mom just passed away 38 years old a Beautiful soul woman full of life and now she is gone we can tell are selfs God has his reasons but it dont ease the pain.sorry for rambling on here folks just felt like this was a place I could come to to chat Im from a small town most the guys I grew up with here never served so they dont understand what it is Im feeling.Not trying to sound like a cry baby just a Dad that loves his son so very much and wanted a better life for him other then trying to follow in my foot steps

Though they are long distance, the friends here are a great support in our time of pain and emptiness. There is always someone online that will listen and encourage us. And we all take our turns being the one down and being the one there to help someone else down.

Glad you have come back and hope this can help your time of waiting not be so alone.

Hello Beach thanks for your kind words,my son will be heading your way in june since he is going to fort jackson for basic same place I went.I feel sorry for him alls I remember is how hot it gets there but its the new army I guess so maybe he will at least get to sleep in aircondtion barracks agian thanks for your response means more then you know take care,,,,

Hello Klassykitten thank you as well for your kind words its funny but my son is trying to get fort stewart as his first duty station since that was mine as well.I guess I should be proud he wants to do what I did just have my own opion of this war and all the kids that are over there just wish we could bring them home.Anyways dont mean to ramble thank you agian take care,,,,,,

Hi Bill, I don't know you from before as I am fairly new myself. I just wanted to let you know that I have faced the same thing you are going through myself. My son enlisted and has been in Afghanistan fighting but is now safe in the states. That was the worst 17 months of my life, lost weight and couldn't sleep. I've been there and if you ever need someone to talk to...You let me know. I'll be more than happy to sit and listen to you, talk with you and if necessary cry with you.

Hello Queeenofhearts thanks for your kind words and it feels good to be back.I had made a couple of really good friends but see they are gone from here so I hope they found love and are living happy now.To me this seems more like a friends sight then a dating personals and thats a nice refreshing change.Its kind of hard to get started here being afraid of steping on some ones toes lol,Im not here to lie or play games just like to make some friends to chat with hope I found one in you take care and thank you agian,,,

hello Heatherhoney first let me say Im very happy your Son is home safe,I kown my baby boy will proublie be OK threw this whole thing But having been there I still cant help but worry,and Maybe its just seeing him grow up I lost so much time away from him being in the Military and now Im home well he wants to leave so its just hard.But we have to let are kids spred there wings right I just always thought I would be there too catch him when he fell now I hope he makes some really great friends to do that job for me while he is gone.But thanks for your kind words means alot nice to have a friend to talk to about this you take care and I will let you know about that tear thing lol yes ladies men do cry boy let out a big man secret there ....

well Heatherhoney you should see me on sunday nights when extream home make over is on lol I ball like a baby at almost every show,Its nice to see that there is some good in this world and when those familys finally get a place to call home who cant help but cry.

Hey Kerob6521 thanks you for serving always nice to meet a fellow Vet.You know I love this country and as his Mom says I should be proud of what he is doing and I am but after doing three tours in Iraq I dont understand why we are there anymore,I wanted my son to go to college get a degree and I know he can do that threw the military I guess as a parent like you said we just want better for are kids,So know I just have to support him and be there for him I think more then ever now.But thanks was nice of you to stop bye and lend some support take care

From what i read your son is very proud of you. Enough to follow in your footsteps. He must of thought of what you did and what you sacrificed and that make him proud enough to do the same. Just pray for his safe return.
