| Tired of being alone and single, watching all the couples walking around hand in hand makes a person feel rather down.

| I agree. Alot of people get on the forums and proclaim how happy and satisfied they are being single. There life is "so full and complete with friends, family and activities." I don't buy it. Sure we can have alot of good things going on in our lives but for me there is always that longing to just share the everyday ordinary things with someone who is intimately very special to me.
A great example; my summer vacation last year at the beach with my 3 kids. We always plan a really nice week long vacation each year. We had a blast; lots of playing in the ocean and sand castle building, walking on the beach and boardwalks, dinner theaters, outdoor concerts, shopping, waterpark, uncontrollable, outrageous fits of laughter. It was great. However, I can remember on more than one ocassion seeing a couple sharing a fun time, a romantic walk on the beach, having a drink together on the boardwalk....and wishing I had a special friend with me to share the vacation with. I was envious of other loving couples. It was a brief realization and it had not negative impact on our vacation but I had the tiny lingering idea that the vacation would have been just a little more complete if I had a partner with me. So, bluntly put, being alone can sometimes suck but it is not a reason to get so down that you miss out on other sources of happiness.
PS You're very handsome, OP, if you feel alone, it is a shame. Add some more info to your profile; I'll bet you'll attract someone soon. Smiles.

| Yeah , I can understand that . What makes it worse is when you do have someone , and they're not there share those moments with you . You see or hear something , and turn to her and start to say something and then realize , she's not there . And that's when you get that little pang in your heart . Your sitting on a bench at the park and see that old couple walking by , you want to turn to her and say "thats going to be us in 40 years" .
Sometimes it just feels like you wouldn't feel as lonely if you were single . If there's any advice I can give to anyone , don't get into a LDR . Or if you do , get as close(localy) as you can , as quickly as you can .

| Sometimes I am so miserable alone and sometimes I am pretty happy with it. Honestly I think I have been alone so long I am more happy than miserable now. But there are times I would so love to have a partner to share things with and just be with. Someone to love me for me and me to love them for them.
