| Yeah meeting without talking on the phone first would be pretty scary honestly. At least if you talk to them on the phone first you may have a tad less anxiety about meeting. This is why I would rather meet someone in person randomly if I could choose because pressure when you meet online or are set up by a friend etc etc.
That being said, I've continuously fallen for online girls rather than ones in person.

Same with me. And I never even owned a cell phone until this online girl begged me to get one a couple years ago and despite me knowing she is a psycho wh*re at least she got me comfortable on the phone. But I am still slow at calling people.
And in fact that's what's led me to be kind of disappointed in this girl on here. She's 19 and she kept saying it was fine I didn't yet feeel comfortable calling her and she would be patient blah blah blah and then of course she started getting annoyed and she pretty much started ignoring me online. Maybe if she acted like she gave a crap that I was shy about calling I would have felt comfortable with doing it right off. Not my fault she doesn't know how to handle me, but hey she's 19.

| I had something similar happen, I only have a cell phone for internet tethering on laptop. A friend of mine finally convinced me a while back to give her my number, which was a huge deal for me. I started talking to her and eventually got really comfortable to the point where she would call and talk almost every day for 2-3 hours, only to one day completely ignore me. Never a reason behind it, but it kind of left me hating talking on the phone even more DX.

| That is 100% exactly what happened to me with the girl who convinced me to get a phone. She just VANISHED. ok I considered it the same as if I had been dating her in person because we talked MANY hours for months and just the way she seemed to consider it made me think of it that way. So then when she disappeared I emailed her finding out if she "officially" didn't want to talk anymore or what.
She ignored those exceot every once in a while she would answer. And I'm so stupid that I kept thinking she may still be into me and I kept stressing for a couple months rather than moving on. Well then my friend randomly wanted to talk to her. Then she was interested in me again.
What happened next just taught me when someone has doubts about interest in you don't bother trying to convince them otherwise because THEN we talked again for like 5 or 6 months (we still didn't even meet, it was all a weird situation). Then it turned out she was lying about being into me to begin with.
There were other complications so I won't go into those, but they led to it being so weird.
I ended up liking talking on the phone so much that we would fall asleep on the phone with out phones on the chargers so it would be like 8 hours or more of staying connected on a call. lmao. I SERIOUSLY used over 20,000 minutes on her alone one month because of all the times we stayed on there falling asleep.
So yeah I got way too into it considering I hadn't even met her. It was just all weird, but I feel like I learned some things as if I met her anyway.
So now I am SOMEWHAT nervous about the phone and SOMEWHAT badly wanting to call some girls and meet them. lol But anyone who is mature tries to be patient with someone like me or you who is reluctant to call right off. But yeah I end up witht he immature ones being who i am interested in I guess.

Well this girl I mentioend in that long post was young and so she was always talking about TERRIBLY TERRIBLY TERRIBLY boring drama at school and then would talk for 2 hours about shopping. I think I deserve some kind of reward for politely listening to thatc rap especially since she turned out to be fake and lying. She lied about her weight I guarantee too because she said she was 135 and she did have huge boobs so with those and how she looked she had to be heavier than that!

| Yeah I suppose that's a good point. I keep seeing time after time that if I get myself too into a girl before even meeting then it's so not good. I've seriously felt very hurt over a few online girls over the past decade. Doesn't really seem "manly", but I do get emotionally attached sometimes even online because I trust that people are who they say and I care about them the way i would in person.
I dunno. Gets me in trouble really because other people aren't like that. They couldn't care less about online.
