| Just curious if anyone has ideas for features on a site similar to this which they think would make it better.
I run a couple forum sites and they're so dead it's depressing so I am thinking of making this type of site since I really need some direction to go with the site. I've posted on forums for so many years and run forums for 4 years so I feel like I know what I'm doing EXCEPT I suck at getting an active group to use anything.
I program to make things for the sites (modifications/addons to forum software). So I know what I would do is have forums (the forum software is good and has a new version out) and then I would make an area to browse through people. I am all about numbers so I would probably try to think of some sort of matching formula based on what people enter about themselves and what they want and then have it suggest people.
I just think it's VERY nice to have forums on a dating site where you get to know the people. That's why I like this site. Other dating sites don't have the forums and it's more of a crap shoot.
But anyway... any particular things missing from this site which you think would make a dating site actually have more chance of working out the way you want it to?
I'm not advertising, just trying to come up with ideas. I may not even make another site. I would rather be lazy and find a way to get my current ones active to tell the truth.

| realistically its a hit or miss man, its all about the marketing you use and the product you are giving, honestly i doubt you can make another successfull dating site because this one is pretty good and the great thing is that its free, if i where you i would make it on something that you are an expert on, maybe something local for your city, for example a car forum, where people with the same interests can post and actually meet up and use the site as a tool for comunication and once you expand you can market stuff on that site, its really a waste of time but if your bored and its your hobby, maybe something that is unique of your city or state? its a hit or miss really.

| Well either way I'm running forum sites even if 0 people post on them because that's what I'm into and I've got into programming to make things. This site being successful doesn't mean another can't be. That's why I'm looking for new ideas. Some people have posted on here lately stating that they're sick of the site and a lot of people are disappearing now. Also people have mentioned things they wish the site had. Personally I think I could come up with something, but no matter WHAT you make you have to have a few people helping get it started or it goes nowhere.
