Citizens who don't care! If citizens don't care, then our representatives (all of them, including judges) will take advantage of any citizens they want ... including all of the citizens. Honesty is the most important quality in a representative or partner! Therefore living up to their oaths is the most important thing our representatives can do!

I am worried too. I have never felt such a sense of helplessness. Our government has forgotten our core values. I think we need to throw all of them out and start over. I think we should make it so that an average joe can run for office, not just millionaires or those that can get the two main rich parties to back them.

Rich people don't have a clue what most of us want and need, especially rich lawyers, who make up most of congress and government. How about people with no college educations in congress? How about plumbers and policemen and garbagemen? What, they can't be smart enough to handle doing what's best for us all? Give me a break...

The average American's addiction to the conveniences and pleasures of modern life in this country, and our overabundance of opportunties to indulge in those, may be our greatest threat. Certainly no outside force is remotely likely to topple the US without some inside assistance (such as the mentioned weakness). Americans would find it difficult to come out of the air conditioning to deal with an enemy. The hardships of Valley Forge and Guadalcanal would be much more than we could deal with - forget frostbite and leeches; we couldn't handle no internet and having to pee outdoors. Al Queda (sp.) could defeat us just by turning the electricity off. Obama could become a dictator overnight if we thought that was necessary to save our dishwashers. Americans used to cherish freedom and opportunity. We as a people have become soft and in love with luxory instead. We would give up our freedom to keep our luxories. I hope I am wrong.

I would guess most of them have degrees but I would not call them "educated" because they make really dumb decisions and call them good.

Why? She is an idiot. I wrote on antoher post that I have mailed a few letters to all our Arkansas representatives. Lincoln mailed me back a form letter reply that was off subject and designed to get me on board with whatever crap she was up to at the time. She never answered my question or concerns. Prior never answered at all. Boozeman not only answered on subject, but added a few paragraphis in his own hand. He's my man. The others are pretty useless.

If you really want a wake up call GO TO THE OFFICE OF YOUR ELECTED OFFICIALS AND SEE WHO THEY HAVE HIRED FOR A SUPPORT TEAM.!!!!!!!!!!!!

Also see how big the staff is in the local office. We pay for all those people and the building they occupy.

I have been to Congressman Barry's local office twice in the last two months. I have talked to two very nice young men on our payroll.


Every time I asked a question, they had to "google" to find the answer.

I asked if Congressman Barry was willing to sponsor a bill to put the legislators on the same Social Security retirement plan the rest of us get.

I also asked if the Congressman would sponsor a bill to put the legislators on the same health care plan proposed for the rest of us.

Calls and letters are fine, but take one more step and go in person.

I took a summary of the health care bill from another website and printed the line by line summary. It printed on 19 pages. I had triple space so they can just write the responses after the items. I asked that someone from Congressman Barry's office respond to each of the line items and let me know if the posted information was correct.

The local office is supposed to send it someone in the Washington office.

We will see if I ever get a response.

From what I observed while in the office, when you call the local office they just give you a bunch of non committal answers and thats the end of that.

I'm glad to hear that someone is running against Senator Lincoln, the new man has my vote.

Mrs. Lincoln and I do not seem to agree on much of anything. As best I can tell she is for giving all the illegals legal status and more benefits. (can you say chicken pluckers?). I have had the same luck as Jbck in trying to get answers from anyone in her office.

she also seems to be for the health care bill.

Did any of you watch 20/20 last night showing the long lines in England of people lining up (queing up), just to GET ON THE LIST for dental services?



My opinion, We the voters have the ability to impose term limits by our actions at the ballot box. Just vote all the old blood out and put in new. Give someone else a chance to ride the Graft and Greed Train a while.


Heaven Help the children and grandchildren, it's a cinch the government isn't going to.
