Watch this video made by Bob Basso, author of "Common Sense" playing the part of Thomas Paine.
He advocates the "We the People" Stimulus package. We want to tell Congress we are mad as hell and we want our country back!!
Here's what Bob advocates:
1. Repeal Congress' right to vote themselves raises. That's like asking the fox to watch the henhouse.
2. Balance the Federal Budget. The rest of us live on a budget, why not the federal government?
3. Make them pay into Social Security like the rest of us do. Maybe they won't squander if it they are waiting for it themselves.
4. Term limits. So we don't end up with more Ted Kennedys.
5. Make them get their own 401()'s instead of awarding them their full salaries for life.
6. Stop paying their insurance premiums. They are only part time employees. That's how the rest of us live. Maybe they will watch insurance companies better if they actually have to shop for their own and pay their own premiums.
7. Throw out every one of them who didn't bother to read the biggest spending bill in history but still voted for it.
8. Take the money we save and spend on it the real heroes of America and defenders of our freedom: the men and women in the armed forces.
9. Start no war unless you intend to win it.
10. Make English our official language.
11. Stop rewarding lawbreakers with MY money!
12. Abolish the electoral college and let the people elect the president.
Let's all put a teabag in an envelope and send it to our non-representing representatives. It will send the message that we are mad as hell and went our country back. We are sick of the continued taxation with non-representing representation.
Let's start the 2nd American Revolution. And if they don't listen, buy a gun. Because you're gonna need it.

But morals are like a**holes. Everyone has one and they are all different. I agree with Cinnamon. She is very bright, well informed, and one of the most intelligent people you will ever meet. BTW, I have enough guns and ammo to well arm at least 50 of us. I hope to God it never comes to that!

| Indeed, our so called government has long been out of control. It will take a collective effort of every state along with every God fearing American to stand up and demand the resignation of every single politician in Washington immediately. Sadly I do not think with all the apathy in this nation it will ever happen.
So most likely the things that are going to hit our nation are unstoppable, and they must take place. It has just gone on for too long, and the enemy has a strong foothold established.
Getting together with like minded individuals where you live is something we can all do to stand together against what is about to be unleashed. I do not know everyone's belief system here, nor would I want to impose my belief's on anyone.
Just please, get your house in order is my prayer.
May God Bless

Having had first hand experience, up close and personal, one should be very cautious concerning the advocation of REVOLUTION, especially by violence created through the use of modern personal weapons. While we of this country are indeed anxious concerning our present national situation and our national future, it is critically important that we all understand the consequences of attempting to solve our political dislikes by utilizing the methods that the founding fathers did. Does anyone have a head count of those who perished during our Revolutionary War with Great Britain? From 1860 to 1865, over 600,000 people in uniform, and uncounted others died over a politically devisive issue. To advocate the concept of and utilization of armed insurrection displays a total ignorance of the potential loss of human life that would result.
The further propogation of commentary such as this adds nothing to the dailog needed to create change for this country, for the better.
Perhaps those who speak thusly should learn the skill of reflection prior to making such rash and ill conceived pronouncements!!!!!!!!

| My fear is thet the US government will simply collapse on its own and we will have a togh time then. I would not be surprised to see another revolution in my lifetime, however. The way our government is spending, spending, spending and not securing us from either a physical attack or a financial one scares the hell out of me. One saving grace is that how likely is it that Arkansas will be a target? We're not nearly liberal enough to be noticed!

I have to agree with you Kat, I dont think we will see a big gun battle in the streets, it will just come to a halt, the Government will just stop running, like California is right now, one thing is certain, it cant go on for much longer like it is now, something will have to give ((LMAO))) the people have given about all they have to give, so ((((what is next)))))???????
The news is not any better now either, calling for more lay offs and more bank failures , had three this morning, couple in Cali, and one in S.D. I also see that they are saying it will be 2013 before the economy picks back up again.
Just my opinion but looks like it will takes something of Biblical size to pull our a** out of the fire this time (((LOL))).
I am like you I believe it will be a financial break down, ""complete"" break down
that is JMO (((LMAO)))) more eath shakeing news ((((LOL)))
have a great week end

| Buy a gun, you're gonna need it. Probably will, but not to forcefully overthrow the government. I'm not sure it is even possible to do it that way because they have access to nearly unlimited resources, fortresses, and hiding places from which they can continue to rule. A 30-06 isn't much use against a tank or stealth bomber, either.
You are still gonna need a gun. What this government is up to is not sustainable, and like someone here said; it is likely to go the way of Calipornia. What you're going to need the gun for is to defend yourself against the hoards of entitled humanity with pockets filled with useless government IOU's and promises. You see? Without government jobs or handouts they can't buy food, pay rent, or do anything else. Instead of the government doing their stealing for them, they will have to do it directly, up close...and personal. That's when you will need the gun.

| #7 - Congressmen rarely read bills, and they dont write them either. Young staff workers do the research for them and make recommendations to them. My former sister in law was such staff worker a few years ago, and she is a left wing, atheist nincompoop, and helped write the NAFTA legislation. Let all congressman and all of their staffers go home and get actual jobs - or at least try to find one.

| I agree that this country is in need of a change but the current idiot in charge is not it nor is our congress. We are moving further and further away form our constitution. I feel that this country needs to remember that is a Christian based country with a capitalist economy. Lately both seem to be politically incorrect. The answer is less not more government intervention and involvement in my opinion.
Change needs to come before we are totally bankrupt from over spending which at the current rate will not be long. I agree it is time to stand up and say THIS IS OUR COUNTRY to all the politicians, stop the free handouts, control or close our borders, make being a citizen something of be proud of again. Remember the cost at which the freedom that we are giving away now was bought in blood and lives.
I would like to see the Bill of Rights lived up to, the Federal Government get out of State Rights Issues. I believe that our founding fathers understood that power comes the people to the government and not the other way. That if things got that way that the people have a right to change it and resist it.
I served this Country in Vietnam because it is the greatest country to live in anywhere. But, I fear that will not be true if we continue on the path! our politicians are leading us

I agree with most of what you have written. Thank you for serving our country. There has always been a strong Christian influence in our government, from the beginning. I do caution against having any church be too much of an influence on the government because any time that happens, there is religious warring and upheaval. The debate that goes on in our country is healthy to an extent. We are a diverse group, becoming more diverse as time goes on. I am loathe to leave anyone disenfranchised. That being said, we cannot bow down to every special interest group with an agenda. Right now, the leftist radicals have more power than they ever should. It makes me shudder. So I am with you on that. We should be afraid, very afraid. And we should stand up and yell as loud as we can.

| I've been agreeing with most of this thread since it started. The only way we are going to avoid what I see a a looming diasaster is to talk to those knuckleheads in charge. They're coming home soon. Look at my other post and fire off some emails and call their local offices. Let them hear your voice. If enough folks light up their phone lines and inboxes, they may have a different perspective when they get back to the sanctum inside the beltway. In the current environment, our salvation rests with moderate Democrats. If we can convince them to divorce the radicals on the left, there may be hope of stopping the insane course the Democratic leadership and the President have set. They're driving the ship through uncharted, dangerous waters and have deliberately turned the radar off so people won't see the danger until the catastophy actually happens. It's kinda like the Titanic. If it hits, once it hits, game over. It's time for the passengers (us) to wake up the crew (Congress) before it's too late.
