| You wouldn't believe the bullshit that the people on the conservative and liberal forums believe these days. I find it refreshing to see that there are not only people in my age group, but also members of the younger generation and aren't willing to believe the pablum that is being spoon fed to them by the government these days. This country was built on and by free thinkers who would not readily give up their rights and were unwilling to be ruled by a oppressive government. The constitution was trampled on daily by the last administration and our God given rights are being whittled away on a daily basis. Anyone else think that it's time for another revolution to return the government back to the people instead of the large corporations, insurance companies and Wall Street?

| We need to go back to remembering that America is not a Democracy. It is a Republic. In a Democracy the mob rules. Get the votes and you make the rules, any rules you like. A Republic endows the people with certain inalienable rights that no vote can take away. We missed that somewhere in the last 150 years or so and got off track. It gets worse each time a legislature gets together somewhere.
The current crop of politicians have continued to prostitute our nation on a level that rises almost to the level of treason to the core values and principles upon which the nation was established and thrived. Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness has been cast aside by a plethera of patently unconstitutional laws and government rules and regulations. We are close to falling out of being a nation that creates wealth and becoming one that merely redistributes it. That is Socialism.
Yep, we need to throw the bums out and start over. If the current trend continues much longer, those that would vote themselves benefits at the expense of people that actually create wealth will prevail. That is very dangerous. Under those conditions, productive people will finally have enough of it and bail out leaving "entitled" bastards to starve. Productive people will always get by and survive. Folks without the intestinal fortitude to learn skills, do work, and be productive will suffer. They might even starve and die or steal and get shot for it. That may not be such a bad thing. It might just clean up the gene pool a little.

| Sorry to tell you this, but this hasn't been either a democracy or a republic for a long, long time. This country became a fascist state a long time ago. If you don't believe me look up the definition of fascism. This country and government has been controlled and run
by the large corporations and their special interests for a very long time. The people no longer have a say in how this nation is governed. Don't let the two ruling parties fool you into believing that your vote counts or matters. The only way your vote will count or matter is if all the independents get together and start voting third party candidates into office that will eventually break the stranglehold that big business has on this country and the government.

The vote is what gives them power. That's "Official". That is what matters. If you can't figure out how to get it back, all is lost.

| It's hard to get your vote to matter when all the politicians that are elected get elected by coercing and deluding their constituents into believing their campaign promises and then "allowing" themselves to be bribed and bought off by corporate lobbyists and special interest groups thereby furthering the political agenda of said lobbyist and special interest groups instead of the political agenda of their constituents. If you think that these elected officials truly have you interests in mind and are working for the betterment of the general populace then you are seriously deluded and misinformed.
How do we get the validity of our votes back, only by a complete dissolution and revamping of the current electoral process and by removing all influence of big business and special interest groups from government and any process that has to do with enacting laws. The people need to rule this country again and regain control of this Fascist state that America has become and return it to it roots of Democracy. Corporate America dictates how you live, not the government or the people of this country.

| I'm inclined to believe that elections at this point are an illusion of choice.
The choices in the menu (ballot) have already been bought and paid for.
In short, the choices aren't really choices at all.

| Well i wouldn't go to far as to take over,,,but i think alot like you and if it wasn't for us free thinkers....things would surely get boring. Yes the goverment sucks big time, but hopefully in time,,,,hopefully in time things will start to shift. The one thing that pisses me off is when the goverment trys to hide things from the public, or give a lame excuse. I really think they are not telling the American people alot of truth.
Like i said,,i am a free thinker and have come across some information in regards to 2012 and the goverment knows very well about this catastrohic event that is suppose to take place. If you start reading on it,,,you will be amazed......I also believe they know about so called ET's,,,,and are not saying anything,,that has been in the works a long time now.....There are scientests that are testifying that shit is gonna be coming down soon.....and do you hear the goverment telling us..how to keep safe, or why yes,,,there are people from other planets and we have been getting technology from them....Nah...so...there you have it.....maybe with the free thinker society,,,we might get some needed change that will help everbody.

And as long as these re-election coffers are fueled and filled by big business and special interest groups then these incumbents will never genuinely have the "people's" interests and welfare in mind.

That's only because the general populace doesn't have the balls to band together and change the status quo.

The old 2012 prediction.....interesting! There has been a lot of stuff on the "educational" channels about that lately. I dont' know about dates and if 2012 is going to be somehow special, but do recall a researcher named Immanuel Velikovski or something like that that made these same predictions based on geological, anthropological, paleontological, and archeological observations. He wrote about these things in the 1920's, 30's and maybe into the 40's. He remarked that great world changing catastrophes occur at fairly regular intervals, but did not know why. He noted sudden shifts in the magnetic axis of up to 90 degrees in very short time spans (perhaps days or weeks) that would create geological upheaval, earthqualkes, volcanic eruptions, floods, radical changes in weather, and tsunamis maybe a mile high. When one takes his observations and examine them in context of "Lost Civilizations", enigmas about the age of various ancient artifacts, ancient myths and legends, biblical catastrophes, etc., it is easy to believe that a great catastrophe will occur and that it will result in the destruction of civilization of biblical proportions. The question is when? Interesting in any event. Interesting subject.
