Im going to try and make this as short as possible. In the year 2007 I had gone out and put a stereo system in my car. My total was $2,300 I paid with my debit card $650.00 leaving me a balance of $1,650. So I opened a credit account with that stereo shop for that amount. Later i get a statement from the credit card company stating I only owe $550.00 So I sent out $200.00 a week later a get another statement saying I owe. $1,650 my original balance. I ignored it for a while until I started receiving phone calls saying I need to pay, I then started explaining how I just sent $200.00 they said htey had received nothing so I asked them if they could give me the account number And there I noticed the account didnt matched, they were the $550.00 one was opened the following day at the same store. I filed a fraud report I got a response saying they did investigation and saw it was opened without my consent. In this matter what can I do? Who can I sue? What can I sue from? Im live in California.

Go to the police. Also if they do not have your signature I do not see how they can claim it was yours. Also check with your credit card co most are insured.

write to the credit reporting agencies and put a flag on your account so it does not happen again. Be careful with giving information out.

Who would you sue and what are your losses in dollar amounts?

pink's right. It's a criminal matter. If you were made whole re:money, you have no losses to sue for

This sounds a little fishy.
Why would you spend 2300.00 for
a car stereo and not have enough money
to pay a lawyer?
Got a good idea what transposed but will
keep it to me.
Soul, Whats up buddy?
