| Am i the only one that is bothered by the major dept stores taking christ out of christmas? Went to walmart today and all i seen throughout the store were signs reading "happy holidays", even the door greeter told me happy holidays when i was leaving, i stopped and asked her why she wasnt saying merry christmas? Her response was that she was not allowed to say "merry christmas", it may offend other religions. How could that possiably offend anybody? They have taken god and prayer out of our schools, now our holidays....I think we are headed down the wrong path.

| Perhaps because I am a little older than you, I do remember when all this Politically Correct stuff started. Convinced me years ago that being politically correct is a very spineless way to be.
I make sure all my Christmas cards say Merry Christmas, I make sure I say it and mean it.

| It is frustrating... I have friends of different faiths, mostly pagans, and they don't get offended by people telling them to have a merry Christmas. We always go through a little confusion in the spring, too... we have "winter break" and "spring break" literally about a week apart because it's not politically correct to say "Easter break." People need to quit being so anal. If you celebrate a winter holoday other than Christmas, good for you! Just enjoy it and don't get upset over a commonly understood holiday. Should just be thankful that someone's wishing you a merry anything... not enough good wishes in this world to be so liberal about rejected some just for the sake of proper wording!

| OH, Nancy he is so cute:::
I cannot stand the way people put an x--instead of Christ in Christmas.
Also these idiots who took the meaning of Christ's birth away--I think we are truly coming to the end ---when Christians will be going to meet Jesus--and I would not want to be in their shoes--NO WAY-----
HAVE A NICE DAY---PAT.

| the thing that bothers me most is that christmas is a pagan holiday in the first place!!! why in the hell would it offend someone's religion? it's not a true christian holiday. it was absorbed by the catholic church when they discovered that they couldn't stamp it out. then the catholic church began to incorporate it into catholic religion. the true meaning of christmas isn't Jesus, it's sharing love and good feelings with all those you meet. sorry about the rant but it's just something that has been getting on my nerves for years now.

| It is anal, the holiday has had the name Christmas for generations upon generations and still does, so does Easter, I would like whomever says we cant call our holidays by their names to explain that and then getta brain and stop taking our right to say what we want away from us, What happened to free speech....

| If we're going to shorten the phrase, then at least call it "Merry Christ-X" instead of X-Mas.
