| LA JOLLA - An elderly robber carrying an oxygen tank with an oxygen tube leading to his nose robbed a La Jolla bank Saturday, left on foot with his loot and got away from police.
The robber gave a teller a hold-up note, then walked away with an undisclosed amount of cash.
The robbery was reported at 10:12 a.m. at the San Diego National Bank in the 7800 block of Ivanhoe Ave., according to San Diego police Sgt. Ray Battrick.
It was unclear whether the suspect had a weapon, the sergeant said.
The FBI describes the robber as a white man in his 70s or 80s with white hair, a gray mustache and glasses, 6 feet-6 inches tall, wearing a white beret, argyle sweater and brown sports jacket

The movie staring Burt Landcaster and Kirt Douglass.They played two robbers that went to prison for 30 years for robbing a train.When they got out,society was so differant,that they had nothing else to do but rob a train.But back to reality,if this elderly man robbed the bank without a weapon,then he just showed everybody how easy it is to rob a bank.Where is security when you need it?

| FBI releases photo of elderly bank robber
The FBI released a surveillance camera photo of a man suspected of robbing a La Jolla bank while carrying an oxygen tank earlier today.
He entered the San Diego National Bank on Ivanhoe Avenue at 10:10 a.m. and presented a demand note to a teller, according to police. He left with cash.
He is described as white, in his 70s, 6 feet 4 inches tall, medium build, wearing a black and beige checked sports coat, light slacks, a checkered golf cap and eyeglasses. He was carrying an oxygen tank in a black bag and had tubes in his nose.
Anyone with information is asked to call the FBI at (858) 565-1255 or leave an anonymous tip with Crime Stoppers at (888) 580-8477.
