well i joined up a few days ago and i notice that race seems to be a very hott topic here and I noted that many men and women seem to hint they perfer light to dark. The other thing I noticed is not too many ladies are looking for 'darker skinned chaps' like myself. What is interesting about this (speaking as a half breed-Mexican Irish watch out ) personality seems to always be the last thing on anyone's mind.

I just wonder what a chap like myself is suppose to do when my skin tone seems to be a prereq for dating. Personally it doesn't bother me. I find the whole bloody mess actually very funny, on account that I am not the standard 'latino'. I'm more of a MetalHead/Funny chubby guy.

If there is a nervousness around gents like myself, I tend to wonder if I should stick around. On a side note I am not attacking any point of view, just wondering what the underline fear is? Personally the only people I dislike are those that drive while talking on their cells and not watching when I cross the street.

Thankfully, race is not important to me, when you're 9th generation Mexican American and your mother is an Irish Hippie. Race tends to be the last thing on your mind. Anyway, like AC/DC once said. "HAVE A DRINK ON ME"

P.S.
I only wrote this is b/c off a rather interesting profile I found while looking up common interests.

I haven't been been more directed towards one tone to another. Just looking for a nice gentleman who truly is that ... a gentleman. I can't tan worth a darn so I will always be pasty white. If I do see sun then I burn and then I go back to my usual color. So everyone will always be darker toned than me

I only brought it up because it seems to be the prereq, but I have noticed this strange fear that some ladies on this site have. I can honestly say I am caught the middle, not latino enough, not Irish enough. Looking like a lumbering brute doesn't help me either, oh well.

Underlying the whole scheme of civilization is the confidence men have in each other, confidence in their integrity, confidence in their honesty, confidence in their future.

well i did not think that is what I was doing, but very well. and honestly, it was a civil question, not making a big deal out of it, i am sure that there are those who enjoy the company of a darker skin chap like myself. as i said before, I would not have asked the question if I didn't notice the trend.

Either way, Have a Pint on me sometime. Cheers

Please know it was not my intention to come off like a wounded animal. It was just something I have noticed here, take myself for example. I am an American rasied in a very Liberal family, my mother was a hippie and my father was a jock. So for many years race was never an issue because due to my Mother being white and my Father being latino. Grew up in California, lived in The San Francisco Bay Area. When I started dating, I dated whites, asian, latino, african, and a french exchanged student who broke my heart, one moment .

Anyway, (Man, I hope someone besides myself laughed at that) My grand parents were off the boat from The UK so I was also rasied with a very European out-look on things. It was not until I got older when I noticed that people really have a hard time dating outside their own race. I mean it was truly fascinating to me, mainly b/c cause I grew up with the theory "Variety Is The Spice Of Life" .

I ask you, why limit yourself? Some people do enjoy the same dinner every friday evening, other's go out and trying something new and exotic. Limitless idea's, people, places, things.I just do not understand why people choose to live life on a leash.
