lachtna Louisville, KY age: 47	That's a question I want to know. I am on 3 free dating sites and all three I have put I am looking for someone local and the ONLY ones that respond are from out of my area. I'm not kidding in saying I want to be able to see the guy and I want someone from my local area. It's hard to hold someone's hand if you're in Louisville and they are somewhere in another town or more commonly another STATE.

My experience is that the person that is supposedly interested in me tends to ask a question/questions with the answer/answers already located on my profile. For me, it’s an immediate turn-off, as well as a red flag. I was told that some women throw out the same questions to several men and sit back and go/see the returns.

crayton Viper, KY age: 25	I read every profile I am interested in, it gives a very small taste of who someone is and may spark the interest that I would need in order to contact them. If someone wants people only in their area to contact them, and I'm not close, I don't contact them. Some guys either think they're god's gift to women or are playing some wierd chance game with themselves or are possibly dumb as bricks. Either way, I totally understand your frustration and while I don't know how one would stop it (probably impossible) I hope you have the patience to tolerate it

lachtna Louisville, KY age: 47	I have the time to wait, I'm older than I was but I'm far from dead yet so I can wait. Thumbs really BIG up to the ones that have responded that do read profiles I read the profiles too. Me, I'm kinda old fashioned so I won't contact a guy first. Now if he has something on his profile and I have a feeling he may need encouragement I will send an email saying I like the profile or I know where you are coming from. I think guys need encouragement from time to time too...they ARE human you know but I rarely get an email back.

It’s just a matter of being able to SEE the person more than just every once in a while and calling the person without long distance charges. If I’m dating you I want to SEE you and hope you feel the same about me. If you want someone from inside of Jefferson County say so. Local means different things to different people. I live in Spencer, commute to Jefferson daily, I'd consider Louisville "local"... If you want someone from inside the Gene Snyder or Watterson belt say so... My guess is you are looking for someone in the Highlands / Cherokee / Phoenix Hill area... If you want better results be more specific...

lachtna Louisville, KY age: 47	I live just across the Bullitt County line so for me local is Shepherdsville, Louisville and Jeffersonville and New Albany, IN if it came down to it. That is a big local area. Local is NOT Albany, NY or Mountain View, CA...which I have received emails from. Highlands would be fine for me too

lachtna Louisville, KY age: 47	I understand that they are not really worth a response back if they don't read the profile but I think it's rude if I don't at least say "no thank you". I know if see something that I think needs a word of encouragement in there profile or think they need to know that there picture is cool (guys need encouragement too!) I'll email them but I rarely get a thank you back, it's common courtesy but I don't get it. I do if I get "cute picture" or something like that. I mean who knows....they may be too far for a relationship but not for a friendship.

wagndrag Oakland City, IN age: 55	While guy may read profiles, I wonder if they are checking out the post, discussions etc. I like to check those out also to get a much better idea of the personality eg. the responses to some question often tell me so much more than is in their general profile. I am not able to post a picture or send emails out of the D H site. I do surveys for a co. who provides this set up and paycheck. therefore it is hard for me to reply other than answer from the discussions.
