That was creepy, dark, cold, and bizarre..

Even the girl provided no feeling or warmth.

I had no freaking idea why she was so happy the majority of the time, until she saw the dude, and even that was sad..

Wierdness just for the sake of wierdness. Jeez, if your going to draw something do something inspirational.

I am now just depressed.

Horrible!

If I wanted to feel like crap I would not have come here.

Overrated.

Hello torus:

Salvador Dali, is, considerd one of the greatest artists of all time, he was as you said has a weird way of producing fine art, sourealists dont work on MEANINGFUL images as we know it, the imagination and SHOCKING images is what they are looking for, propably for the sake of it, unfortunately - personally- i didnt read about art in the past few years for personal reasons, and i cant explain all your questions. but what i can tell you is that DALI took the movement from its social, political roots and liberise it, in a commercial way, most sourealist artists were rebels some how, but dali didnt have that social agenda-- i think--

just look at it as agreat art.

i assure you that no body agrees with dali's way of life and the way he thinks, but we all agree that he is one of the greatest artists ever.

I am sorry it made you depressed,

I understand you like dali Nj, but As Ive said.. I dont think he was one of the greatest ever.. I have friends who draw better.

Im not into surrealisim really.. at all.

Its like drug culture crap imo.

I totally think Dali is overrated.

IMO shock ANYTHING is passe.

Ive seen TONS of his work all through childhood and into adulthood.

I HATE the one with all the stairs..

The melty watches are just... wierd.

I never even thought his stuff was cool when I experimented with acid as a kid.

I dont like the nudes, I dont like the bleak outlook, I dont like the scary insane looking faces.. I dont relate to the absoloute randomness... fantasy worlds do nothing for me.. I think its lacks depth and warmth.

Im just totally not into it.. but thanks for ya know, being a supporter of art in general.

Jeez, sorry to be so neg, but I really just didnt like it.

Miss Taurus,

I am glad you saw some of his paintings, i hope they were in the actual size, in a meuseum, or a big print,
everry body has his/her own taste, i cant say any thing about , dissliking his style, its you.

its not only me, but most art critics consider him one of the greatests, his ability is almost perfect, this man can copy a photograph and you cant tell if its apainting or a photograph, and his melting))) images are very creative, his painting- the christ on the cross - birds eye view, is the best religous painting ever made,

i dont like his materialistic point of view at all, if you comapare him to manet or mattise or cizan or even picasso, you will see a great difference, this man, was very blunt in his materialistic life, i disagree with that, i think the artist should be rewarded for his art but, i consider him as a visionary who carries a mission, or amessage, to a digree, not to be a new christ or lenin or bhuda,

what kind of art do you like ??

I like Monet, some Picasso, Michaelangelo,Van Gogh, Renoir, many italian artists.

I know you will have an impulse to compare, but its just like.. for some reason he doesnt move me.

Anyway.. enough about the problem and into the soloution.

I wonder though.. who did the art in Pink Floyd the movie? I have seen the entire Monet exibition.. not one painting missing. It was grand imo.

You know.. what a great date it would make if someone enjoyed art... like a museum date?

I dont often enough view art, and you have inspired me to do so. I thank you for that.

Art of this kind gets me going like classical music, or jazz can as well.

Then again.. art is different to everyone... maybe you think some of the stuff I like is ugly, or sucks.

I HAVE however been known to root for the underdog.

Maybe it could be I dislike Dalis honesty in his art, because the mood is reflected in how I have felt, and it scares me.. I suppose you never know.

Maybe he was quite meloncholly.. I have forgotten his story. He could have been a pity.

Think Ill research it now.

I smell a fake personally. There were definitely a couple parts in there that had a distinctly CGI look to 'em that wasn't available in 1946.

I am not sure what do you mean, , which part you think is a CGI ??

In FILM as amedium, the very basic techinques, beside the camera movement and the object's movements, are but not limited to,but include, disolve, in and out, over impose, mutliple exposure, slow motion and film movemnets inside the camera........etc. these techinques are very basic, i mean been done with basic film equipemnt, 100 years old, if u see the very early experiments or films, in cenima , you can see these effects with primitive equipemnts, comparing to what we have nowadays, just search for brother lumier or george mllies and other pioneers, and you can see those techniques clearly. another point, if you compare these shots in DESTINO ,with an earlier disney films, i believe you can see the same techniques, peter pan as anexample was done in the ealry 50's and they used these techniques.

Eh, it's hard to tell, cuz this isn't exactly a hi-def recording of the video, but some of the closeups of the statue and later with the sand receding over the walls and such have a decidedly 3D-rendered kinda look to 'em.

I dunno, I could be wrong. To be honest, I didn't much care for this video. I think about half of Fantasia is more impressive than this. Rite of Spring and Night on Bald Mountain/Ave Maria particularly. And that was solo Disney.

I think thats why Disney kept it on its shelves collecting dust for over 60 years, it doenst have a story, and no dialogue, its just becz of Dali, and its just an experimental work.

i still like it )
