| Try using subject lines that need to be finished in the bulk of the letter.
For example write someting like:
I was wondering...
Then finish the question with the first line of the note. You've started off asking something, which might get a response in and of itself. If at all possible, ask them a question about something you read in their profile, it shows you read it.
Do your best to say something funny, and always flirt just a little.
Doing this, you can get a response out of one in five.

Don't give up yet. You've only been on DH for a month!! Use the Who's online link on your home page, before you send them an e-mail, You may be waiting for someone to respond that hasn't been on-line for a while! 
Jump in on some threads and get to know a few ppl here in Kansas Chat, you'll be glad you did. Post something the ladies will also reply to and make some new friends! Hang in there johnny!!
