|  My ex keeps hanging around. Do I be friends? I don't think my dates would like it. What about being a friend with the other sex. I am not sure it is a good thing. So do I dump my male friends when a man comes near? that's pretty lame of me, don't you think??

| Just had this discussion with the woman I was seeing.She went and had dinner with her best guy freind she has known for 15 years.He was her best man at her wedding instead of a maid of honor.Kinda weird for me..but what do I know.I didnt like it,because he is just divorced and she is really just divorced too.So to me there was the chance for something to happen.Plus I never heard of the guy before.We probably wont see much of each other now.But I say guy freinds are ok as well and women freinds for guys.As long as each other knows them and are with each other when they see the freinds.I didnt see the problem with having the dinner if I was along too.Its kinda like the things men look at on the computer.If your with someone,you dont want to be looking at something you wouldnt look at with them there.As for exs,I have 2 and we get along better now more then ever.Of course if we didnt have kids together maybe a different story..so to make this so long

| I have been divorced once and I have played the friend game. It is hard with having kids but wanting to have a relationship with some and still be friend with the ex will never work. You can best answer this question with yourself. Would you like it? Why be friends if there is nothing there?

| ex screwed new one in my house in his daughters bed. then told me the marriage thing was over and would like to stay friends. My response HELL NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

| As far as the ex thing well there is a reason they are that way. I don't hate nor love either of mine they just are...one I have kids with so I am social and keep it positive but that's it. (Life is to short to hate plus I don't have the energy).
If your potential "friend" can't handle you having associations with the opposite sex they are just a tad insecure for an adult and probably have other issues. If you have to change your life for someone else I'd say...RUN.
As far as an ex showing up at an inoppurtune moment...who the hell pays the mortgage? It's when they bring their friend back to your place is when you have the problem

| My Ex and I weren't even friends when we were married for 26 plus years.  I certainly don't want to hang with her and my step-husband now.
That said, he did invite me to ThanksGiving dinner at their place. But the invite read more like it would be an intervention.  LOL

| I am still really good friends with my ex, despite the fact that he gets jealous and tries to come in between my relationships. It seems as if when I find someone he decides he loves me again. Advice... tell him to back off. You deserve to be happy. I did.
