Recently I was told I should try dating older women, because I act older then I am. What can I do to figure out what age range I should be looking for, or can I even do this?

I am a Mature woman and I do date younger guys. Most men my age are looking for young women.
I think it can work if you go in know what to expect. If you want children and marriage it's probably not going to be long term.

I have two kids and one lives with me so wanting more kids is not really what I want. I am looking for someone that I can be with and enjoy my life with.

Then you should give it a try. Women my age usually have a good fico score ,the kids are gone, and we know what we want.! I know here in Southern California there are certain bars that Cougars hang out in.

I think that is one of my problems I do not like bars. But if I do go to a bar I would need a good friend with me, someone that can kick my but so I don't just sit there. I am on the shy side when it comes to starting a conversation with someone I don't know.

I think you should do what makes YOU feel good. If being with an older woman makes you uncomfortable then why proceed.

I don't look at the age... I look at the person. Follow your heart cause it knows what it wants. If you meet a woman that wants the same as you do, and you feel comfortable and feel like she completes you... then it doesn't matter about the age difference.

Well mcoop,

I think it depends on what you are looking for. I am 48 and I have tried the younger ones and my age range and the older ones. And I have found that the women my age and up are the way to go. And some of them are in better shape than a lot of the younger ones, they have better atitudes as well.

It seems the older women I have talked to have either seen eye to eye with me, but only want to be friends, or are just wanting to party. I can tell you almost 5 years ago I learned a few things that made me change my life and partying was one thing I left behind. So since I don't party where is a place I could at least keep an open eye for a good woman? Any suggestions will help.

It don't really matter the age range. I have been in a relationship with a man who was 55yrs. old, but he was not as mature as you would think. I was married to a guy that was in his 20's and that was like raising a child again. Now i found a guy who is only 8 months younger than me and he's been the only one I have seen that actually is mature enough for me. Honey, don't let age be a factor. Continue to explore the whole world and you'll find the right one. She maybe 18 or she may be 60. who knows really?

MERRY CHRISTMAS and HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU!!! Good luck in finding the maturity that you need and want!!!!

good advise CJ...try not to focus on the age...its the person that matters. You might be passin by her everyday and thinkin she'e either too old or too young...everyone has different life lessons....and yeah, I'm learning this too. Best of luck to you...JMO...Darlene

I don't think maturity necessarily comes with age, but with experiences. Maturity varies in every age group. Merry Christmas!!

I am 54 and I have been dating a 20yr old for the past year and let me tell you, as far as sex goes it's alright, but for the other avenues in a relationship it sucks. She lacks the maturity for an intelligent conversation, we can't go out to clubs together because shes not old enough and her interests are all self centered, but I've also dated close to my age and I couldn't enjoy sex without KY jell. So I guess it's what you are looking for in a relationship. I have a strong sex drive that hasn't diminished with age and find few women in my age group that can handle their legs on my shoulders for a prolonged period of time or the hour long oral sex I lenjoy giving and then I haven't found a younger woman that is interested in world politics unless they're discussing it on MTV.
