And yeah I have been on 3...(contrary to second5's all lack of knowing)...none of them to find a date...I'm isolated, even within my own country....but to interact on the forums..

Got booted from the first forums... with about 45 others... then spent 2 and a half years on the second site, in the forums... then recently moved over to these forums with about 40 others...voluntarily... not booted from the second site...(again contrary to second's all knowing nothingness..he was too stupid to see the profile was spammed as a grab, for the first site.... as were many other's profiles...)

Connecting Singles and Brainiac Dating are actually free. Most other sites make you do the whole profile thing, then ask for a credit card. At which point I exit, but then they spam up my email.

Advise, be careful on any that ask for money.

I tried to join a so called Christian site that had 3 levels of membership.
Thought I'd try out the cheapest, shortest one just to see. After entering my debit card number the order flashed up the most expensive membership.
It didn't have an option to decline at that point so I called Customer service and explained. In spite of the fact they said they'd fix it, and got my checking account # too, well...

Long story short They not only charged me for both memberships they cleaned out my checking account. Of course I didn't find out til other checks started bouncing.
It cost me a fortune.
It was an offshore based outfit supposedly representing several date sites.

I've been on this site for nearly six months actively and while I've created some friendships I have had no response in the romance department. I was on another site (I believe if they are named here they are blocked) and had two serious responses within one week and am about to have my first in person meet up. Am I blind? I was born into this site without a "quote" button. I have "wrong forum", "inappropriate" and "reply" which only opens up the box to post.

My apologies for the ignorance. I do know the [ quote] command but that involves copying and pasting the quoted text.

And to answer the question at hand. I've tried a few of the free dating sites out there before this one and also deleted my profile within a day or two. I also never give out bank account information. If I want to pay to meet up with people, I'll go to a bar and buy someone a drink.

I have been on a few [blocked site] is free and of course pof but to be honest, they seem abll about the same to me and then of course the ones who advertise totally free and you find all you can do is send a wink or something for free. As far as online, I think they are all about the same and definitely not fast results for any.

OP, if you're looking for free sites just do a Google search on "free dating sites"?

To me, this is one of the best since it gives you a lot of freedom for layouts/graphics/playlists in your profile and putting pics/videos in the forums here. Not many will allow you to do both.

As for dating, they're all about the same. The problem still comes down to distance, no matter where you are. I see a lot of nice women on here I'd love to meet but they live too far away (even in my own state, Michigan's pretty big...lol).

I did the pay thing and vowed to never do it again. Some, however, are under the impression (mistaken in my view) that only pay sites are "serious", since "paying" members are deemed more dedicated to finding a partner. I didn't find that to be true. If anything, the pay sites have more of the narcissistic, ego-driven, and selfish. Que Sera Sera.

I wish you the best with your new relationship but if it doesn't work out you may want to look for singles dances or clubs in your local area. Some say church groups are another place to find a good man.

In order to meet men locally you need to be around them. Try frequenting local sporting events or getting a part time job at a sporting goods, auto parts supply or other store men shop at. Being a barmaid or waitress at a sports bar might work also.

Use your imagination to figure out where men your age congregate and how you can put yourself in the middle of them. Remember....location, location, location.
