People drive like crap every day of the year. The time of year has nothing to do with it. Texting, telephone calls, eating, drinking, reading, doing make up, it would seem people are doing everything EXCEPT driving.

And i know. I am in the thick of it with my job. I see it every day.

Which is why i choose my hobby.

Like Karr said- it ain't just the time of year, and it's certainly NOT just the south suburbs... We have more than our share of brain-dead idiots in the North Suburbs too. Got tailed for over a mile tonight coming home from dinner- No one in the left lane, idiot wouldn't pass, just rode so close I couldn't see the front of his hood. I was going at least 10 over, and they stayed right on the bumper until I turned.

Then there's the jacka$$ that almost killed my son, his (6 month pregnant) GF, and best friend when he rammed them at a red light doing at least 70 in a 35. Totaled their car and cost a night in the hospital. He "only" blew a .06 so is getting off easy, at least until we get a lawyer on his worthless not-quite-drunken butt.

We could always talk about the real morons with cars who can't seem to see motorcycles- almost got ran off the road twice in the summer... Both times morons with a cell phone glued to the ear. It's not like I'm a tiny guy on a little scooter- Tiny I ain't, I wear a Blaze Orange Fleece (Yeah I look like the Great Pumpkin) and ride an 800lb Sidecar rig.

Sometimes I think it's a good thing that we don't have a concealed carry law in IL.

i like to drive the speed limit and see who passes me.
i've grown so fed up, i think about shattering out the window of the cars passing me.

this area is absolutely horrendous at the moment for driving offenses.
i can sit at a bridge where two lanes go left and two lanes go right (right lanes can turn with making a stop, the proceed)
here i can count dozens and dozens of cars blowing a stop in just 20 minutes.

it is getting dangerous.
too bad too, because that corner would be an excellent spot for a sidewalk show.

i'd personally love to report all the cellphones against someones ear to their insurance company.
hands free devices are/were as cheap as 99 cents on ebay.. there aint no better excuse than that.

people can hold a decent conversation with a passenger while driving.. so i dont see why the drivers dont take the perception of hands free speech AGAIN.
