|   i want to know what people have such a problem with people dating someone out of there race this really bothers me 5 years ago i was engaged to a black woman(i am a white male) my mom told me to make a decision choose her or my fiance. i chose my fiance we broke up because of my decision (my fiance lost both her parents at a young age and grew up in group homes)she told me u can always find someone to love but u can't find a new mother.i never forgave my mom for making me choose. my mom passed away 4 years ago when she passed away i was daitng another black woman my faimly told me she was not welcome at the funeral. i have not talked to my family since then and that bothers me.:: am i right for disowning my family

| I'll just say this about that. Your happiness should be based on your own heart's desire. You are never going to be able to please everyone all the time, even those who mean the most to you.
Yes, now that your mom has passed, it leaves you with feelings you'd rather not have, but I think, if I were to imagine myself in her place after forcing that choice upon you, most of the regret was truly hers before she left.
She was your mother, and deep down, she would want you to be happy. She probably realized that...and is now trying to tell you to follow your heart. And that is where this question inside you is coming from.
Listen to her now. And be happy. My best wishes to you for the future.

I am not raciest and have no problem with interracial dating, to each their own
We had a thread yesterday about this same topic and it got ugly when people were asked for their opinion, posted it and it didn't agree with the original thread poster
Some questions can't be answered to please everyone and someone is always left trying to justify their personal preferences to someone else.
As far as your situation, do what you feel is best in your heart and what makes you happy.
