| Strawberry Alarm Clock was a really good group from the late '60s'. "Incense and Peppermint" was their big song. There was another group called the Blues Magoos. I don't remember any of their song titles. I've slept since then. I enjoyed The Turtles a lot. They had several good songs. A really good "California" group of the early seventies was "Spirit". They had a song named "Nature's Way" that was really good and a few others.
The figers are a little far apart for a peace sign but I guess it'll have to do.

| The DOORs get my vote on this.
Awesome band, although they did have a few very weird and sometimes very creepy songs.

| desparado...a friend of mine turned me on to Spirit a short while ago. They were a great group...I've been listening their stuff a lot lately. I barely remember them from the "first time around"...too young.

| Spirit was a band, as I remember, from the LA area and had a distinctively different sound. I don't know how many albums they made but "Twelve Dreams of Dr. Sardonicus" is the album that I have always liked and I bought it a couple years ago on CD.
As an added note, one memeber of the group tried a career on his own and had one song that climbed the charts. His name, I believe, Jay Ferguson. I have slept since those days and I believe that it was him. The song was Rock and Roll Island. I get him mixed up sometimes with Randy California. I believe that Randy passed away many years ago.
After "Nature's Way" my next favorite song is "Prelude-Nothing to Hide." Next would be "Mr. Skin."
From the "pictures on the "album" covers they must have really been getting some "Far out" stuff in those days.
Thanks for the response.
