I am sure most men using this service have heard of the scam. Someone just tried it on me recently. So as warning to the unknowing, or for sharing similar experiences I send this out.
I was contacted by a "blank" profile (nearby city) and given an email. When I responded I was introduced to a young woman from Kazakhstan. Broken English and fractured syntax.
A "poor little shop girl" looking for a "soulmate" outside her male dominate society.
It took only three weeks of correspondance for me to become the love of her live, despite my being 20 yr older, claiming to be destitute, and in bad health! She just had to meet me & SOON! Finally came the request for $1300 to cover the visa & airfare. I then quit the game....
Some clues to look for;
A email address from a private unknown domain, not an ISP.
No direct email, only replies.
Lots of pictures of a beautiful young woman. Not quite professional but not snapshot variety (How many women do you know that have 30-50 pics of them alone in stylish outfits?)
A reluctance to answer personal questions & give details. Never even had a full name.
An unflagging determination to "love" me, with a great build up and story line. Almost like a romance novel.

Obviously I didn't fall for it, neither should you! "If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is." Happy hunting!

Yep, I have also been getting messages from out of country men, claiming I'm the one and only, and that they will love me and take care of me forever, but "first send $500 RIGHT NOW, CUS I'VE BEEN ROBBED!!! and have no money until I can get to the states and cash a check," and I'll be there in two weeks!!!LMAO!!!
I must admit, I am at fault sometimes, because I egg them on, I know their game immediately and just really enjoy entertaining myself at their expense... I know I shouldn't but it's fun to tell em," Hurry my love.. wait at the nearest western union, money is on it's way," pretty lame huh...
Anyway, everyone be careful, they're is a lot of idiots out there preying on you to be vulnerable and stupid!!!

I have found the VAST MAJORITY of men on the pay dating sites are phoneys from foreign countries. Lord knows there may be plenty on here but so far I have been able to avoid them. They run rampant on the pay sites.

There are many variations to this scam.
You were wise to not send her any money.
Another one is that they cannot cash a check in their country for whatever reason ( and they are trying to come to the U.S. ) so they will try to send you the check to cash for them.
Don't fall for that one either..
There are many scams on the net, and they all involve asking for $$.
Don't go for any of them.
There are many sites to check the scams out on..
Just do a search.. such as "internet scams" on yahoo, google, or whatever search engine you have.
Ohh.. and btw!! I bet 10 to 1 that those pics weren't even of her.
I mess with them just to waste their time whenever they contact me.. It gets funny at times, because they don't know what to reply back!!
If they want to send you a check to cash for them,... Simply tell them you have a bad drug habit and really need the money.
You won't hear from them again...

Yeah, I ran into one of those. She was American but in Nigeria studying the culture there and she was coming back to the States really soon. At first, she seemed really legit and normal. All of the sudden things got weird and she was 'in love' with me. And also, she ran out of money and was starving in Nigeria and needed me to send money right away LOL. I didn't send any of course.

Those pay sites are overrun with scams and cam models from what I can tell. This is the first site I've seen where the majority of the people actually seem real. It's nice. Even here though, I've already had a girl from China send me a message saying she wants to start corresponding with me and this is only my third day on this site. Whatever...delete.

I had one also, but from another site. Started out living in SC, then Florida, then went to Nigeria to buy gold, paintings and beeds?. She was all lovey dovey and didn't want to talk about anything else. She was coming here when she returned and even sent me the flight schedule that was a legitimate flight. Then came the "Urgent" message that her $35,000 worth of crap was being held by the Africans for a teriff of $450 and they wouldn't take her voucher. I never responded. 20 emails back and forth, she's 27, I'm 55. God I love this country!

I wouldn't be down on China though. I have talked to a few Chinese girls and they are very sincere. I may go visit a 51 year old lady in a couple of months. Very cute. Plus, for you older guys like me, most younger women there want older guys. Exact opposite of here.

I am getting those everyday to join my messenger but i find coming mostly from Africa ,a few from Russia.The fist sign to find them out .Ask them about your profile and when they want you to tell them all about yourself,you will know.But please do not send money to no one.Love Do Not Have Anything To Do With It.
