2007 was the year of the break-up for myself and the circles of friends in my life. In most cases the one who chose to leave or cheat had no reason outside of life's normal problems (money, unexpected repairs, schedule changes, etc..)

There was no history of domestic violence or drug problems or alcoholism. Life just wasn't "perfect" enough for them. As adults, you all should have learned by now there is no such thing as perfect and the grass is NEVER greener on the other side once you get there.

Life will always have bumps in the road and NOBODY is without a character flaw or pet peeve or some other issue that you can choose to accept and maybe improve on or you can allow it to drive you nuts until you find someone without that flaw.

Here's the catch, the new person you leave the old person for is going to have a whole new set of "flaws" even if they lack the flaw you convinced yourself that you could no longer live with in the relationship you left behind.

Do yourselves a favor, focus on the relationship you're in and remind yourself why you wanted to be involved with that person in the first place. Stop comparing yourselves to "desparate housewives" or "sex in the city" or whatever delusion you may have about how life should be.

There are no rich, charming, cultured, "perfect" people out there who are going to scoop you up and leave your problems in the past, If you want "perfect" then define "perfect" as you perceive it and work to become it, even if it's gonna take 10 years.

I'm not really looking for feedback, just venting. But For those of you on theses "singles" sites looking for greener grass, Grow up.

Yes, in life, one will encounter many obstacles, storms, bumps, and bruises. Life wasn't meant to be easy.

One's true character and strength albeit good or bad, comes out during these adverse situations and define his/her character - not only in someone's professional life, but also relationships and marriages.

It's all a matter of how one reacts to the problems that he/she will encounter. That is the key. Some people are optimists, some are pessamists. One of my all time favorite poems by Charles Swindoll

The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life.

Attitude, to me, is more important than facts. It is more important than the past, than education, than money, than circumstances, than failures, than successes, than what other people think or say or do. It is more important than appearance, giftedness, or skill. It will make or break a company ... a church ... a home.

The remarkable thing is we have a choice every day regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day. We cannot change our past. We cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain way. We cannot change the inevitable.

The only thing we can do is play on the one string we have, and that is our attitude ... I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me, and 90% how I react to it. And so it is with you ... we are in charge of our Attitudes.

Thanks bestman: Needed to read that today and realize how true a statement it really is.
I know myself that attitude and your personal perception and reaction (or better yet responses)
to situations can really make or break the spirit. How one deals with life's 'b*tches'
is significant to how one's life IS!

Allstadt - Most of us are not here for greener pastures. We're looking for the pastures that never were.

Allstatd. Are you a philosopher? You don`t look like a philosopher. You ain`t old enough to be a philosopher. You been smoking something? Being alive is absolutely great, and I know cause I`ve been dead and brought back to life, but I ain`t gonna go on about it. I am, however greatly encouraged that someone your age would at least take a stab at discussing the adversities of being part of the human race. KUDOS TO YOU. Ps. most of what you`ll experience throughout your life will be nothing but a bunch of BS if you let it. Two rules of life. Rule # 1. This is all BS and should be ignored. Rule #2. refer to rule #1.
