| I happened upon a documentary regarding the Lynyrd Skynyrd plane crash in 1977 last night and I got to reminiscing about all the rock stars who have left us over the years. These were musicians who in varying degrees I grew up with over the years with respect to the music I listened to and in some ways made an impression on me. I got to see a majority of these rock icons in person, and was fortunate to have met a handfull of them as well. I got to thinking of all who have departed us and found the list to be rather extensive. Some of you may be too young to remember the names on this list, but I think alot of you can recall these musicians who we grew up listening to. I'm posting this not to bring anybody down, but rather to afford us an opportunity to look back upon fond memories. Feel free to add to the list and/or add your personal comments or experiences.

| Another Skynyrd little known fact: the band was named after their high school gym teacher, Leonard Skinner. They were always cutting class to go practice, and Leonard Skinner was always busting them and trying to send them to detention. The high school band was so miffed with him, begrudgingly so, that they loosely named the band, Lynyrd Skynyrd, after Leonard Skinner.
