| A person at work ask for a cig everyday. One day I had just opened up a pack and there she was, asking again.  This time I gave her the whole pack and I quit.

| hi stillcute - I think it's really a personal thing about what's going to work for you. For me it was the thought that I was a victim to that d*mn cigarette and it was making the choices for me. It told me when to smoke, when to spend money on it, making sure I always had my cigs with me....the cigarette controlled me and I was not using it as an enjoyment thing anymore.
Knowledge about what happens when the nicotine withdraws from the body helped too - found out the second day was supposed to be the worst and yep, that was my total b*tch day - locked myself in the bedroom to get through that one.

| I used the patch and I crochet alot. I made a lot of afghans and other things. Just to keep my hands busy. Hope this helps. And good luck.  It has been 15 years since I quit.

| Very few quit for real doing it cold turkey, Some clinics use the nicotine patch to help. My brothers wife tried hipno.. theropy to stop,doesn't work so save your money. Good luck.Check around some clinics offer classesto quit.

| just recently used the new drug Chantix. Absolute miracle, but then you have to stay stopped. Quit many times for years already. Always started back up. Can't pick up that first smoke or I know I will be addicted again!
